Цели:


  1. обобщение и приведение в систему социокультурной компетенции учащихся;

  2. совершенствование коммуникативных навыков и умений.

Оборудование урока : учебник, аудиозапись, раздаточный матеріал, компьютерная презентація.


Ход урока:

I Организационный момент.


Teacher Good-morning, I’m glad to see you. Take your seats. Tell me, please, who is on duty today?

II. Речевая разминка. Warming Up

-How many people live in London?

-What river does London stay on?

-Is Whitehall a hall?

-Where does the Queen live?

-What is Union Jack?

-Where is the National Gallery situated?

-Which is the oldest part of London?

-What square is in the centre of London?

-What colour are London’s double decker buses?



Teacher I’m glad that you are in a good mood. Have a look at the blackboard, please. You can see that the topic of our lesson is “ A tour around London”. (Slide 1)


Have you ever been to London?

Pupils No, we haven’t.

Teacher But still you know a lot about London, because we have learnt many interesting things about this city . (Slide 2)


As you know, London stands on the river Thames. London, the capital of Great Britain, is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. Many years ago London was a small town on the Thames. Now London is a big port and a beautiful city with large squares and parks. About 7 million people live here. London is one of the biggest cities in the world. The Thames is not a long river. It is 3 hundred and 30 kilometers long. The English people call it “The Father of London”. London began on the Thames. Today you have a wonderful chance to visit this city. But first let’s sing a song “London Bridge”.
