The theme of the lesson: A day in my life
The aims of the lesson:

  1. Тренировать учащихся в применении по теме "A Day in my life" в устной речи. 

  2. Совершенствовать навыки монологической речи. Тренировать учащихся в применении настоящего простого времени. 

  3. Воспитывать потребность в соблюдении режима дня. 

The methods of the lesson: pair work, work with cards, pictures, question-answers, listening;
The types of the lesson: presentation of the new theme;
The visual aids of the lesson: an interactive board, pictures.
The procedure of the lesson: 
I.Organization moment. 
1. Greeting

  • Good afternoon, children!

  • I’m very well, thank you! And you? 

  • Sit down, please

  • Who is on duty today? 

  • Who is absent? 

  • What day of the week is it today?

  • What date is it today?

  • What season is it now?

  • What month is it now?
    II. Phonetic drill.

  • What are the words there in this poem?

  • You are right. The days of the week.

  • And now I want to divide you into two groups. Take the stickers from the table. There are school subjects and the days of the week. Who took the school subjects they will be the 1st group and who took the days of the week they will be the second group.

  • III. Checking up the homework

    Very good, pupils. Today’s our lesson is an unusual lesson. There are a lot of guests in our lesson today. So you have to show them that you are good in English.

  1. Presentation of the new theme.

  • First, of all we shall learn the new words:

  • To have breakfast – завтракать

  • To have lunch – обедать

  • To have supper – ужинать

  • To get up – просыпаться

  • To wash face and hands – мыть лицо и руки

  • To take a shower – принимать душ

  • To brush teeth – чистить зубы

  • To go home идти домой

  • To do morning exercises – делать утренние упражнения

  • To go to school – идти в школу

  • To go to bed – ложиться спать

  • To do homework – делать домашнее задание

  • To watch TV – смотреть телевизор

  • In the morning – утром

  • In the afternoon – днём

  • In the evening – вечером

  • Let’s find out the theme of today’s lesson. What will the lesson’s theme be today? What shall we talk about?

  • About daily routine.

  • Today’s our new theme is “Daily routine”.

  1. Explaining the new material

  • - Today’s lesson’s grammar is the Present Simple Tense. Простое настоящее время – это действие которое происходит каждый день, обычно, всегда, иногда.

  • e.g. I usually get up at 7 o’clock in the morning.

  • I have breakfast at 8 o’clock every day.

  • e. g. I go to school at 1 o’clock.

  • You go to school at 8 o’clock.

  • She goes to school at 1 o’clock.

  • VI. Work with the text.

  • - Now, pupils, listen to the text “Omar’s day”.

  • My name is Omar. I’m eleven. I come from Kazakhstan but I live in London now. I go to school. I get up at half past seven in the morning and I have breakfast at eight o’clock. School starts at nine and we have seven lessons every day. We learn English, French, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art, Computer Studies and Home Economics. I like Maths and English but I don’t like History. Lunch is at one o’clock. I have lunch at school. In the afternoon we have lessons or sport. School finishes at a quarter to three. I go home. Before supper I read or play with my English friends. We have supper at seven o’clock and then I do my homework or watch TV. I go to bed at ten o’clock. 

- And you have to read and translate the text yourself.
- Now, pupils, look at the active board. There are sentences. And you have to put the sentences in the order.

I get up at 7 o’clock.

I go to school at 1 o’clock.

I go to bed at 10 o’clock.

I come home at 6 o’clock.

I take a shower in the morning.

I have supper at 7 o’clock in the evening.

I brush my teeth.

I wash my face and hands.

I do my homework.

I watch TV.

VII. Doing exercises

  • Ex. 8 on p. 95. Are these sentences right or wrong? I will give you the sentences and you’ll write the sentences right or wrong into your copy books.

I – group

  1. Omar is twelve years old.

  2. He lives in Astana now.

  3. He gets up at half past seven.

  4. He has lunch at half past eight.

  5. He has lunch at one o’clock.

II – group

  1. He has supper at six o’clock.

  2. He has five lessons every day.

  3. He goes to bed at nine o’clock.

  4. School starts at ten o’clock in the morning.

  5. School finishes at three o’clock in the morning.

  • Ex. 9 on p. 95. Correct these sentences.

Example: Omar is twelve. No, he is eleven.

I – group

  1. Omar lives in Washington now.

  2. He gets up at half past eight in the morning.

  3. He has breakfast at nine o’clock.

  4. He has lunch at twelve o’clock.

  5. He has supper at six o’clock.

II – group

  1. He has five lessons every day.

  2. He likes History.

  3. School starts at ten o’clock.

  4. School finishes at two o’clock.

  5. He goes to bed at eight o’clock.

  • Ex. 10 on p. 95. Complete the sentences. You have to finish these sentences.

VIII. Conclusion. 

  • Today is the last day of the New Year. There is a beautiful New Year tree. And we have to collect all of the toys from the New Year tree. There are questions behind the toys. And you must answer the questions. You will just translate the words from Russian into English.
