Topic of the Lesson: "Modes
of Transportation"

The aims:

To
learn students to talk about modes of transportation. To develop students’ critical
thinking, their abilities to work in groups and self-assessment. To develop
students’ communication skills. To train students' abilities to apply
knowledge in a complex way.

writing, listening and speaking English.

Students learn
about advantages and disadvantages of a plane, a train and a bus. Students
analyze their own rest patterns. They determine how they can use definite
transport and find the places on a map by listening.

lesson. Then the student has to express the wish to other student using the word written on

group №2 - Train, group №3 - Bus.

Every
transport has its advantages and disadvantages. I'll give you informational
texts. Each group has to read its own text attentively.
Teacher
calls all students to "Vocabulary Table", gives a basket to every
group and explains instructions to this task.
Teacher
gives a command to speakers of each group to pass to other group in order to
share the information.
Teacher stops the time
and asks students to go out to the board and to explain the diagram.

Each
member of 3 group read their own text. Students may brainstorm different ways
to share the information they have learned about their means of transport.
· Students
have to choose the words from "Vocabulary Table" which were
mentioned in their text;
· gather
them to the basket;
· they
analyze all the words in the basket;
· compare
your answers with the key.
·
Speaker
of each group should exchange the places in order to gather
information about the texts of other group;
·
the
members of other group have to retell their text in short;
·
speakers
should return to their places, retell the main idea of the text to his
groupmates and complete a diagram “Fishbone”.
Every
group speak about advantages & disadvan-tages of travelling:
№1 Group – by train
№2 Group – by bus
№3 Group – by plane.
At
the end of speaking all 3 groups have to make a conclusion.
