MY HOUSE.  MY FLAT.

Objectives:

- to develop  pupil’s  speaking, reading, listening skills;

-to revise the vocabulary on the topic;

-to develop such  traits of character as kindness, tact, politeness, tolerance. 

Equipment: 12 envelopes with  letters and words; recording of the text “ The Letter”; toy flats, houses, pictures on the  topic  “ My House”; handouts. 

 PROCEDURE

  1. Introduction.

T: Good  morning , dear friends! Glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson with the  song.

A SONG.

Hello, hello, hello (3 times)

 Hello, hello, hello(3 times)

 I and you,

I and Jack.

 T:Today we’ll read, write, listen to the tape recorder, sing songs, play games, describe the pictures. Now listen to  the tongue twister.

Where is the ball?

Oh, where, oh, where?

 Is it in the box or under the chair?

Oh, here is a blue and yellow ball

 Under the table near the  wall.

(Pupils repeat the tongue twister.)

II. DESCRIBING PICTURES.

T: Let’s describe  some pictures .

P1: This is a bedroom. It is light and clean. The bed is near the wall on the right. The arm-chair is  near the wall on the left. The chair is at the desk. You can sit  on the chair and read a book, write exercises, play table games here. The window is in front  the desk. The bookcase and the  wardrobe are on the left.

P2: It is a room. It is light  and clean. The sofa is near  the wall on the right. The chair is at the desk. You can sit  at the  desk and  do the lessons, read books. The window is in  front of the desk. You can see a lamp, an exercise book, 2 pencils on the desk. The cat is near the desk. The flowers   are on the shelf.

P3: It is a house in the village. It has  three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The  kitchen and the living room are on the left. The bathroom and three bedrooms are on the right.

III.SONG.

 T: Children, do you know the  song  about a mouse’s  house? Let’s sing it. Who will be the mouse? The mouse points to the  toy  furniture?

 T: Now do it yourselves . Ask  where  the things  are in  our toy  houses. P1(pointing at the  toy  furniture ): Where is the table?

  P2: It’s near the wall . Etc.

IV. LISTENING.

T: Now, children, let’s  listen to the  text  and answer the  question “ Where is the  doll?”

TEXT

 My friend Mary has got many toys: birds and ducks,  bears and elephants, dogs and cats, kittens and puppies. They are black, white, green, blue and yellow. She has got  a brown monkey too. She has big toys and little  toys. Her toys  are very nice. And her toy monkey is very  funny. The toys are under  the table. Mary  has got  a doll. It’s big  and  very nice. The doll is not  under  the table. It is on the table. Mary likes her doll, and  she likes to play with  it. Where is the  doll?

VI. READING.

 T: Children, in this  lesson  we have sung the song, described the pictures, asked and answered  the  questions, but we haven’t read  yet.  Let’s read the text. 

A LIVING ROOM.

This is a living room.  It is light and clean. The sofa is  near the  wall on the left.  The TV is  near the wall on the right You can sit  on the sofa  and watch TV  there.  The  arm- chair  is next  to the sofa. The  lamp is near the arm- chair.  You can sit and read a book there. The table is in front of the  window.  Six chairs are near the table.  Children like  sitting and playing  table games  there.

VII. WRITING.

 T: Now, children, let’s revise the letters  and sounds. Look at the black board. You can see some  letters  there. Let’s write the transcription  and some words  with these  letters . Who wants to do it?

Sample:

Cc [k] –Kk-[k], ck-[k].

Cc [k] – car, cat, cow, cup

Kk [k] – desk, kitten, drink, kite.

Ck [k] – black, duck, clock, chick, cock, sock

T: I’ll read the worlds and if you hear the words with the letters ck, clap your hands.
