I. Greeting. Warming up activities.

T: What fruit do the members of your family like? What fruit does your mother like? Etc.

III. What do the lost boys like doing?

SB ex. 1.1)

Т: The lost boys do a lot of different activities. (На острове у потерянных мальчишек много разных занятий.) Open your textbooks at pages 70–71, ex. 1.1). Look through the short texts and answer the questions. What activities do they like doing? (Чем они любят заниматься?) What activities do they not like doing?

Ch: (находят нужные предложения, читают) We like hunting! Slightly likes swimming in the sea. We like listening to tales. We like fishing but we don’t like cooking. Nibs and Curly like hunting. Peter Pan likes playing the pipes.

Т: The lost boys would like to know what Wendy and her brothers like doing. What questions do they ask about their favourite activities? (Какие вопросы они задают об их любимых занятиях?)

Ch: Does Michael like hunting? Does John like swimming? Does Wendy like reading and telling tales? Does Wendy like fishing and cooking? Does John like hunting? Does John like playing the pipes?

T: Let’s listen to the tape and check if you have filled in the gaps correctly.

– Yes, he does. John likes swimming. He can swim very well.

– Does Wendy like reading and telling tales?

– Yes, she does. Wendy likes reading and telling tales.

– Does Wendy like hunting and cooking?

– Wendy likes cooking, but she doesn’t like hunting.

– Does John like hunting?

– No, he doesn’t. He likes swimming and playing football.

– Does John like playing music?

– No, he doesn’t. John likes music but he can’t play music.

IV. “Role play”.

Т: You know a lot about the activities the lost boys like most of all. Now let’s role play. Some of you will play the role of Wendy, the others will play the role of Peter Pan. Talk about the activities the lost boys like. Wendy asks questions (Card 1) and marks Peter Pan’s answers 184

with ticks in the chart on page 73. Peter Pan uses the chart on page 74 to answer Wendy’s questions.

Wendy: Does Nibs like telling tales?

Peter Pan: No, he doesn’t.

Wendy: Does Nibs like hunting?

Peter Pan: Yes, he does. He can hunt all day long. Etc.

V. Let’s sing the action song “Following the leader”.

T: The lost boys like singing a lot. Let’s sing their favourite song “Following the leader”.

Ch: (слушают песню, повторяют по строчке, поют вместе с учителем под фонограмму, двигаясь по классу друг за другом, как потерянные мальчишки за Питером Пэном)

VI. Let’s play “Miming game”.

T: Let’s play the miming game! Divide into two teams. Первая команда обсуждает, что будет демонстрировать один из её игроков. Затем игрок этой команды демонстрирует какое-либо увлечение при помощи пантомимы. Игроки второй команды, задавая вопросы, пытаются отгадать, какое любимое занятие демонстрирует игрок первой команды.

– Does he like hunting?

– No, he doesn’t.

– Does he like fishing?

– Yes, he does.

Если команда отгадала, что любит делать игрок команды соперника, она получает очко, и тогда игрок выигравшей команды демонстрирует своё любимое увлечение. Если команда не отгадала, то очко получает команда соперника. Победит команда, которая наберет больше всего очков.

VII. “My Friend”.

T: I’m sure your make-believe friends like doing different activities. What do they like doing? Choose four activities in the chart on page 85 in your Activity Books. Mark them with ticks.

Ch: (рассматривают картинки и отмечают 4 занятия из представленных 10, например: fishing, swimming, climbing trees, hunting)

T: Write questions to your classmates about the favourite activities of their make-believe friends.

Ch: (пишут вопросы)

T: Ask each other questions about the favourite activities of your classmates’ make-believe friends. Answer the questions.
