The Olympic rings are arranged in 3-2 pattern on a white background, with the blue ring to the extreme left, followed by yellow, black, green and red.

 

 

A motto is a phrase which sums up a life philosophy or a code of conduct to follow. The Olympic motto is made up of three Latin words.

 As you know, since the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, the Olympic Games have had a mascot, usually an animal native to the area or occasionally human figures representing the cultural heritage

3.             Russia hosted Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi city and certainly the Olympics had its own Olympic mascots.  Name them (the Hare, the Bear, the Leopard).

7.             Now you can see some mascots, which were the official ones for the Winter Olympics in different years. Your task – find the mascot I’m describing and write down in your papers its number.

10.         1)Stylized skier, Schuss  - a toy created for the  Olympic Winter Games which were held in 1968 in Grenoble(France). (1)

11.         2) The 1984, Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

12.         Vucko, the Little Wolf was voted the mascot from a choice of 6 candidates by the readers of three popular Yugoslavian newspapers. This mascot symbolized the human desire “to befriend animals and become closer to nature” (3)

13.         3) Turin, Italy, 2006. The snowball Neve and ice cube Gliz. Their main qualities included enthusiasm, passion for sport and care for the environment.(6)

Their images were supposed to resemble the main sources of income of the city: powder, copper and coal. о проведении интеллектуальной игры на английском  языке

        1. Цели:

• воспитательная цель: развитие у школьников толерантного отношения к традициям и обычаям зарубежных стран;

• обучающая цель: знакомство школьников с культурой зарубежных стран, развитие лингвострановедческой и социокультурной компетенций;

• развивающая цель: развитие умений анализировать и систематизировать сведения, касающиеся различных аспектов культуры зарубежных стран.

2. Задачи:

• развитие интереса и уважения к традициям и обычаям в рамках культуры зарубежных стран;

• воспитание личностных качеств, обеспечивающих успешность деятельности учащихся в группе (команде);

• увеличение, углубление объема знаний о социокультурной специфике стран изучаемого языка;

• развитие языковой и речевой компетенций, необходимых для овладения иностранным языком;

• формирование умений выделять общее и специфическое в культуре родной страны и страны изучаемого языка;

• обучение работе с источниками знаний: книгой, учебником, справочной литературой и т.п.

3. Участники:

Команды учащихся 7-8-х классов в составе 3-х человек.
