Introduction
We can see a rainbow in the sky when the sun is
shining and it is raining.
I like a rainbow. A rainbow looks like a miracle
because it is very colourful. It's a huge arch of colours in the sky.
Whenever
it rains and the sun shines, I hope to see this beautiful band of colors in the
sky, and the sight of one never fails to cheer me up. Personally, I believe
rainbows are a symbol of hope, and the meaning associated with each color adds
more significance to this colorful band.
My

My subject of study is
to find out how many colours of rainbow have
different nations.
My aim is
to learn how people of different countries see
the rainbow and to compare with the vision
of Russian people
What is the rainbow?
Do
you know how the rainbow looks like? Have you ever had a chance to see it? Did
you like it? Do you think it’s a miracle or just the science? As a matter of
fact, this appearance is nothing but a habitual Nature’s trick. We see a
rainbow when both it’s raining and it’s shining. Water from rain makes white
sunlight become many-colored. It always shows up mainly opposite the Sun.
That’s the way a rainbow appears.
As
a rule a rainbow is circular and very colorful.
The
main colours of the rainbow
Have
you ever counted the colors of a rainbow? How many are there? Only three, seven
or ten? Can you guess?
If
you said SEVEN – well done! Can you tell them? What’s the first one? The most
visible when you look at a rainbow. Of course it’s red. What’s the next one?
Sure, it’s orange! Have you noticed the tendency? One color is very similar to
following color.
The
third color is yellow! We see it clearly watching a rainbow, doesn’t we? Color
number 4 is green and number 6 is blue. Can you guess what the next one is? The
next two colors remind you of blue - indigo and undoubtedly violet. All colors
gradate into one another. Therefore, we observe this miraculous natural
appearance.

Red
This
is the first or the topmost color in a rainbow
The color red first brings to mind the idea of love. This is the color of
energy and enthusiasm.
Orange
Orange is the second color in the rainbow, from the top. The color orange is a
combination of red and yellow. It symbolizes a lot of energy and wisdom. Orange
is a very warm color,
Yellow
The third color in a rainbow from the top is yellow. It represents the color
of the sun. This is known to be full of energy. Yellow also means something
bright and happy
Green
Green is the fourth or the middle color in a rainbow. The color green is formed
with the merging of yellow and blue. The color green symbolizes harmony,
balance, growth, and good health.
Blue
The fifth color from the top in a rainbow is the color blue. Think blue and you
think of the oceans and the sky. It brings peace and understanding.
Indigo
The second color from the bottom in a rainbow is indigo. It symbolizes wisdom,
intuition.
Violet
The last or the lowermost color in a rainbow is violet. This color is a
combination of the colors red and blue. It symbolizes love for humanity.
The different nations have
different numbers of colours of the rainbow

· the Japanese rainbow has six colours because there is
no green colour in Japanese.

The English people count also six
colours in the rainbow. There is no blue colour in the rainbow.

In China the rainbow has five
colours:black, white, red, something between blue and green,yellow.

In Africa the rainbow has two
colours: dark and light.

In Russia people can see seven
colours of the rainbow, may be because

7 is a magical number.

There are 7 colours in a
rainbow.

There are 7 days in a week.

There are 7 notes in music.
·
There are 7 wonders of the
world.
Conclusion
People of different countries see
different numbers of colours of the rainbow.
Russian people can see seven colours in the rainbow, more than other people in
different countries
