  Abay (Ibrahim) Kunanbaev (1845 – 1904) was a Kazakh poet, composer and philosopher. Abay was born in East Kazakhstan near the Shyngistau mountain. Abay was the son of Qunanbay and Uljan, Qunanbay's second wife, they named him Ibrahim, but because of his brightness, he soon was given the nickname "Abay" (meaning "careful").
  Abay's major work is The Book of Words (қара сөздері). Abay also translated into Kazakh the works of Russian and European authors. He translated the poems by Mikhail Lermontov, Krylov  and Alexander Pushkin's Eugene Onegin.

She known for  “The sky of my childhood” “Angel in the skullcap” and “Aldar Kose” . She graduated from the conservatory in Alma-Ata in 1954. She has also been awarded the Order of Lenin, the State Prize of the USSR  and various medals.

  Gennady Golovkin  is a Kazakhstan professional boxer.  He was born on April 8, 1982, in the city of Karagandy. His  father is Russian and mother  from Korea. Golovkin had two older brothers named Sergey and Vadim and a twin brother named Maxim. Sergey and Vadim helped Golovkin to start boxing when he was eight years old. In 2006 Golovkin moved from his native Kazakhstan to Germany, and then in late 2014 to Santa Monica, California, where he lives with his family.  Golovkin speaks four languages: Kazakh, German, Russian and English.
