1. The patient
has a sore throat, fever, headache and he often vomits. The face is flushed
and the skin feels hot and dry. The temperature is high. The rash appears.

Scarlet fever
|
We must isolate
the child and put him in bed. When the temperature is high we must give him
fluid diet and when the temperature falls we give him nourishing food.
|
2. The patient
is sneezing and coughing. He has signs of heavy cold, a running nose, a dry
cough. The temperature is high and the patient has a dislike of the light.
The rash covers the body.

Measles
|
We must be very
careful to prevent the spread of infection. It is necessary to take care of
the hygiene of the mouth. The patient`s mouth and lips must be clean and
moist.
|
3. The patient
has fever, slight headache and listlessness. There are some spots on the
chest.
|
Chickenpox
|
There is no
particular treatment, except to keep the skin clean and to use some
smoothening lotion for itching. The itching can also be relieved by bathing
the child with a small quantity of soda 2-3 times a day. Antihistamine syrup
should be given to relieve itching.

has a low- grade fever, some pain behind ears, a mild pinkish rash.

German measles
(Rubella)
|
The whole
illness lasts 2-3 days and needs no treatment at all.

has stiffness of jaw, spasms and convulsions, difficulty in swallowing.

Tetanus
|
The patient
should be hospitalized and the wound should be cleaned immediately. We must
use tetanus toxoid separate or in DPT to treat the patient.

6. The patient
has fever, headache, and malaise.
|
Typhoid
|
To treat the
disease you should follow proper disposal of stools and urine and to give
chloramphenicol or substitute for 3-4 weeks.
|
7. The patient
has a sore throat, fever, and a headache. There is difficulty in swallowing.
There are a whitish patch in the throat and difficulty in breathing.
|
Diphtheria
|
The child will
have to be hospitalized in an infectious diseases hospital for 3-4 weeks.
|
8. The patient
has fever, cough and a sore throat.
|
Tonsilitis
|
To treat the
disease we should give the patient penicillin or substitute injections for 10
days.
