People nowadays are more health – conscious than they used to be. They understand that good health is above wealth.
Many people feel they are too fat, even if their doctors disagree. And a lot of people try to improve their fitness. There are a lot of ways to lose weight and avoid gaining it. Perhaps the most popular of them is following a diet. If you want to lose weight, you should go in for sports, cut out snacks and desserts, cut down on fat. People have also become more aware of calories, the energy value of food. Some people count the number of calories they eat each day, so that they can try to take in fewer calories and lose weight. This is called a calorie-controlled diet.

Since the 1970s eating habits in Russia have changed a lot. Many people now believe in dieting. Fat is widely recognized to be the only of main causes of obesity and heart disease. I used a traffic light system where unhealthy food are marked with red disc, in-between food with amber and the healthiest food with green.

Here is a list of nine statements you might expect people to say about fast food:
Fast food is very convenient.
Perfect pizza is perfect.
A pizza is better for you than a McDonald’s.
McDonald’s contain cholesterol and fat.
The occasion burger is unhealthy.
People think fast food is more healthy than it really is.

What a miserable lot dieters are!
I know one whom I can always recognize from the sour expression on her face.
She is constantly gazing at herself in mirror, and leaping up on to scales in the bathroom. She spends time fighting against spreading hips.
She has been always hungry. She spends most of her time turning her nose up at food. I think psychiatrists are right when say you cannot be hungry and happy at the same time. All the food that they eat leave them permanently dissatisfied.
What a torture for these dieters to watch others tucking into piles mouth – watering food while they munch a water biscuit and sip unsweetened tea!
I feel sorry for all these who took such slimming courses because they psychologically.
Consulting calorie charts. I found out that the dieters can reward themselves occasionally. Sometimes they can afford some high - fat foods instead of low - calorie ones if they contain the same quantity of calories.

-Действительно, есть люди, в основном это женщины, которые не могут без сладкого, для них сахар, шоколад – лекарство для улучшения настроения. И вот именно таким сладкоежкам надо иногда ( во время даже самой строгой диеты) позволять себе лакомства – иначе они могут попросту впасть в депрессию
