Тема урока: Business before pleasure (Делу
время, а потехе час)

Цель урока: дальнейшее
развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции.
- Речевая компетенция: тренировка навыков говорения (монологические и диалогические высказывания)
об известных бизнесменах, о банкнотах и монетах настоящего времени, чтения
с пониманием основной мысли и поиском нужной информации.
- Языковая: активизация
лексики по теме «Деньги», «Деловая встреча».
- Социокультурная: реализация
диалога культур на материале по теме «Деньги», ознакомление с купюрами
Великобритании и США, реалиями повседневной жизни; расширение кругозора
учащихся, развитие интереса к изучаемому предмету.
- Компенсаторная: совершенствование
умений вести диалог, высказывать свое мнение о рецепте успеха в бизнесе.
- Учебно-познавательная: содействовать развитию критического мышления учащихся, умению
выделять главное в потоке информации, анализировать и обобщать, развитию
долговременной памяти учащихся, внимания, умения высказывать свои суждения
о деньгах; воспитание толерантности к обычаям и традициям нашей страны,
любви и уважения к родной стране.
Оборудование:
Компьютер, проектор, презентация.
Ход урока
Учитель: Good afternoon, boys and
girls! Sit down, please! What date is it today?
What is the weather like today?
Today is the Day of businessmen. Some of your parents are
businessmen and maybe in the nearest future you will work as businessmen too.
Today we’ll discuss it and get to know a lot of interesting information about
the profession of a businessman.
Now look at the screen, there is a proverb, let’s read it
and translate.
The key word in the proverb is “business”. In the Russian
language you can often hear it. The word “businessman” is derived from the word
“business”.
Nowadays there are a lot of businessmen in the world, some
of them are famous and extremely rich. Let’s get to know some of the world –
known millioners.
The products of many companies that are owned by these
businessmen are known and you know the brands. Let’s check it. On the screen
you see the products and the brand names. Match them.
Now let’s check your answers. Name them one by one.
Every business is connected with money. Money is the result
of a good work of a businessman. Better they work – more money they have. But
businessmen don’t waste money, because they know the proverb:
Let’s get to know what coins and banknotes there are in the
USA and in the UK.
You don’t earn money, but your parents do, you can only
spend it. Let’s read the rhyme and get to know what can we do with money.
Businessmen do a lot of work to earn a lot of money. We have
a timetable of Mr Smith, a businessman. Let’s read about affairs of one day
and see that he is as busy as a bee.
Now let’s occur in the office of Mr Smith and read the
dialogue “Meeting a businessman”. All the necessary words are translated.
What unknown words have you learned after reading the
dialogue? What words were easy to understand? Is language of a businessman
formal or simple, informal? Name the words connected with our topic “Business”.
And at last I want to show you one secret, it is a recipe of
success in business. Let’s read it and translate.
