The procedure of the lesson

I. Оrganization moment

T: Good morning, children! How are you?

P: We are fine, thank you! How are you?

T: I’m fine, thank you! I’m glad to see you again.

Who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day of the week?

What season is it now? What is the weather like?

I see you are ready to begin our lesson. I hope you’ll work well and get good marks.

II. The presentation of the new theme

The Motto of our lesson today is “Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.” Chinese proverb

What is the theme of our lesson? Answer this question after watching video.

Pupils watch the video about schools in Great Britain, name the theme of the lesson and answer some questions:

1. When do children go to primary school?

2. When do children go to secondary school?

3.  Do children go to school on Saturday?

4.  When does school start?

5.  Who studies at school?

6. What do they wear at school?

We speak about the education system in Great Britain. You do some activities, read the text, fill the blanks, make up texts and do the test .

Education in Great Britain.

       In Great Britaincompulsary education begins at the age of five when children go to primary school. Primary education lasts for six years. First they attend the infant school from five to seven.                                                                                     When the children are seven they go to junior school which they attend until eleven. Boys and girls study at junior school for four years. Then they go to secondary school. There are some private schools in England. Boys and girls don’t study together at these schools.                                                                                            English pupils have school uniform. A boy’s uniform consists of a special suit, a school cup, a tie and a blazer. A girl’s uniform consists of a hat, a coat, a skirt and a blouse. As usual their uniform is dark.
