Тема урока: Роль средств массовой информации в нашей жизни.

Цели: -развить умения читать с извлечением конкретной информации

           -развить способности осуществлять продуктивные речевые действия

           -познакомить учащихся со средствами массовой информации

           -сформировать понимание важности средств массовой информации

           -совершенствовать речевые навыки говорения

Оборудование: раздаточный материал, наглядные опоры (разговорный текст, логико-синтаксические схемы).

Ход урока

1.Оргмомент.

Good morning! I’m glad to see you again! How are you?

(We are glad to see you too! We are fine).

2.Речевая зарядка.

We can’t imagine our life without mass media. The mass media don’t only spread the news, report about various aspects of life. They form and affect public opinion. The mass media play an important part in our life. We can learn about the world by watching TV, listening to the radio, by reading newspapers or magazines, by using the Internet. That’s why today we’ll speak about the role of the mass media in our life. What for do people use them? (to entertain, to get information)

At home you read the text about different types of mass media. Now let’s check how you understood the text. Answer my questions:

-What do the mass media comprise? (They comprise TV, radio, newspapers, the Internet).

-When did newspapers appear? (The first English printed news book the “Weekly News” appeared in London in 1621).

-When did radio become widely used? (Radio became widely used during World War I).

-What is the Internet? What does the Internet do for the people? (The Internet is the recent innovation. Due to the Internet you can find a lot of friends in different countries, visit the greatest world museums and art galleries without leaving your apartment).

-What is the role of TV in our life? (Television plays an important role in our society, not only as an entertainer and informant, but also because of the grip it has on many people.

-Why can’t we imagine our life without the mass media? (Our Information Age is determined in many respects by the mass media. The mass media don’t only spread the news, they impose certain values on contemporary men, report about various aspects of life, they form and affect public opinion).

5.Today we speak about the mass media. The mass media consist of television, radio, newspapers and magazines, the Internet. Sum up the information and tell us about the role of the mass media, newspapers, radio, television and the Internet.

Conclusion: The mass media play an important role in our life. To have a comprehensive picture of what is going on, people must watch TV programmes, read newspapers, use the Internet, but do it selectively. I think we can’t imagine our life without the mass media, because we live in the age of a new technology. The mass media entertain us, educate, inform and teach us how to live in a modern world.

7) Вывод.

We can’t live without mass media. Our Information Age is determined in many  respects by the mass media. We can learn about the world by watching TV, listening to the radio, by reading newspapers and using the Internet.
