Warm-up

There are some pictures on the blackboard,
look at them. Try to guess what we are going to talk about.

S:
(Approximate answer (AA)): Today we are going to talk about social problems,
the problems of people.
T:
That’s right, today we are going to talk about social issues. And what
is it?
S:
(AA): The problems that we have in our life.
T:
Exactly! And what do think is the purpose of our lesson?
S:
We should learn new words on the social issues in order to be able to speak
about them.
T:
Absolutely right!
Please,
look at the blackboard. Here you can see some words with transcriptions.

Now
let’s read the words altogether and try to understand their meaning.

читает слова, ученики повторяют за ним.
T:
Now you read the same words in a chain and I show you the pictures for each of
the word. You
should guess the meaning of the word yourself.
Затем
ученики читают те же слова по очереди, учитель показывает соответствующие
картинки, и дети самостоятельно догадываются о значении слов.
T:
Are all the words clear to you? S: Yes, they are.
III. Speaking-Grammar-Vocabulary
T: Ok. Now when the words are clear for you open your books at page 34 exercise
2. What can you see here? Now you know many social issues. And you can also
see some pictures next to the text. I’ll give you 2 minutes to match the
problems with the pictures.

Now let’s check the exercise but I also want you to explain why you have chosen
the exact picture. Now I will give you the example.

text and the useful words for it. No I’ll give you 2 minutes and then we will
check it.
