Цели: 1). Обучающая – освоить во всех видах речевой деятельности новые лексические единицы по теме «Средства транспорта»;

2). Развивающая – развитие умений монологической речи;

3). Воспитательная – способствовать осознанию возможностей самореализации средствами иностранного языка;

Оборудование: учебник, тетради, словарь, интерактивная доска, музыкальные колонки.

1.     Greeting/Aims (1-3 минуты)

The aim of our lesson is to learn new words and word combinations on the theme. By the end of our lesson you’ll know some new things about travelling and you’ll be able to speak about different kinds of transport, tell other people about your favourite means of transport for travelling. First of all take this evaluation cards. For each part of our lesson you’ll give yourself points. For example, if you feel that your answer was excellent, you can give yourself 1 point. If you feel that you were not good enough, give yourself 0,5. Is it clear? Fine.

2.     Check on homework. Your home task was…. Please open your workbooks and show me your homework. (1-2 минуты)

T: First and foremost, let’s remember the words that we already know and learn some new words. Look at these pictures. I’ll read the word and then you have to repeat it altogether.

T: As you know, many people like to travel by air as it is the fastest way of travelling. A lot of people like to travel by sea as and by land because they can look at passing beautiful views. Now I want you to work in pairs. You should complete the table with as many means of transport as possible. You have got 3 minutes. When your time is up, choose a speaker from your pair, and he will answer. Start working, please.

You can take as much luggage as you want.

Listening (5 минут)

Exercise 4, page 96.

T: Now we know how you prefer to travel. Open your textbooks on page number 96 and look at the exercise 4. Let’s listen to other people (Sophie, Peter and Greg) giving their opinions on different means of transport. After that you’ll tell me how each person prefer to travel and why.

Sophie — bike because you don’t get stuck in traffic, it’s free and it keeps you fit.

Peter — train because it is a fast way to travel and he likes looking out of the window at the beautiful countryside.

Greg — boat because you can walk around or go outside and look at the sea. It is a really interesting way to travel.

Relaxing minute (3 минуты)

T: Now close your  eyes, listen to the sounds and tell me where you are, what you can see and describe your feelings.

S1: I am on the boat on the river. I am standing on deck looking out and enjoying the view. I feel very calm and relaxed.
