Teмa: “Nature protection. The Earth is in danger” (урок для 5 класса)

Цель:

1 . Развивающая: развитие устной речи, восприятия, мышления, воображения учащихся

2. Воспитательная: осуществлять нравственное воспитание учащихся

3. Образовательная: расширять кругозор и повышать общую культуру учащихся

4. Практическая: обучение общению на английском языке.

Задачи:

1 Развитие навыков устной монологической речи, развитие чувственно-эмоционального восприятия, логического мышления, воображения.

2. Активизация лексики по теме, совершенствование навыков чтения, устной монологической речи учащихся, грамматических навыков.

3. Развитие речевых умений учащихся с использованием лексики по заданной теме; совершенствование навыков чтения с целью извлечения конкретной информации; совершенствование грамматических навыков.

4. Воспитание любви и бережного отношения к животным и растениям, стремления охранять и беречь природу.

Оборудование: компьютер и интерактивная доска, раздаточный материал.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент и приветствие:

- Hello, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Sit down, please.

- What wonderful weather we are having today! Do you agree with me?

( Yes, of course, it is bright and sunny. No, I don't. The weather is cold and ... (windy, cloudy, cold, frosty, changeable, wet, dull, bad) ...but sunny today. It is not snowing today...)

- What season is it now? (It's winter now)

- What do you like to do in winter?

(I like to stay at home and watch TV or play computer games. I like to go for a walk with my friends. I like to ski or play hockey. 1 like to skate and to sledge. I like to play snowballs and make snowmen. I like to be out-of-doors all day long and to breath fresh air)

- And what will you do at the weekend if the weather is (bad, cold, wet, fine, sunny) Have a look at the board and complete the sentences, please. Be very attentive. I've got a surprise for you.

2. Oral drills. Презентация (Слайд 1-7)

If the weather is bad, I will stay in my flat.

If the weather is cold, I will put on a warm coat.

If the weather is wet, I will drink coffee in bed.

If the weather is fine, I will be very kind.

If the weather is sunny, I will draw something funny.

3. Сообщение темы урока:

- Thank you. So the weather is fine and I'm sure you are fine, too. Today, we’ll discuss ecological problems, speak about nature, about animals and birds that are in danger nowadays. You’ll read the text "The Earth is in danger" (Слайд 8)

4. Актуализация опорных знаний учащихся

- Now I want you to remember the words on the topic "Nature protection." (Слайд 9) Look at the board read and translate the words in a chain Nastya. begin please (or Nastya will read loudly and other pupils will repeat after her and you must translate these words in a chain): mild, possible, a factory, to protect, a climate, impossible, to breathe, harm, to save, to destroy, to survive, drinkable, dirty, to poison, to pollute, the environment, danger, pollution, lose. Name the words with the sound: [r], [t], [ð]

- Thank you. And now, translate my word combinations using these words. Well done. Now try to translate these sentences into English. But at first open your exercise-books, write down the date, class work. We'll write down some sentences. (Слайд 10)

2. to protect People must protect wild life on the planet, (nature, forests and plants, birds and animals). The problem now- is to protect life on the Earth. Protect wildlife, plants and trees.

3. impossible It is impossible for me to get up at 6 o'clock. Soon it will be impossible to live on the planet.

4. possible It is possible to write these extra Maths exercises today. It is possible to visit this museum.

5. drinkable Not all water on the Earth is drinkable. We must solve the problems of drinkable water.

6. to pollute, pollution The birds disappear because of pollution. Modern (A lot of) factories and plants pollute rivers and lakes,

7. to breathe It is difficult to breathe in big cities nowadays. We often breathe fresh air after rain.

8. to save We must save wild animals. What must we do to save our Earth?

1. Do you know this bird? (No, we don’t) (Yes, I do) What is the bird's name? (It's dodo)

2. Have you ever seen it? (No, we haven't)

3. Of, course, you haven't seen a dodo. Your friends, your teachers, your parents and grandparents have never seen a dodo. The last of these large birds that couldn't fly died many years ago. Now it is extinct.

4. Where can we get any information about this bird? (I think we can get it from TV programms.) where else? (Newspapers, magazines, films and books)

5. You have already known that dodo is an extinct bird. What famous book about

disappearing animals and plants do you know? What kind of book it is? (It's the Red Book)

6. Yes, you are right.

3. What interesting information can we find in the Red Book?

(We can find the information about flowers and plants. We can learn about birds and animals which are disappearing nowadays.)

4. Why are some animals in danger now? (People have hunted and killed many
animals. People have cut down many trees and there are no many forests for animals
nowadays. Modern life is bad for animals. The air is not fresh. The water is not clean.
They don't often have good things to eat and space to live.)

5. Why people have hunted and killed many wild animals for example tigers in India?

(Tigers can kill domestic animals and sometimes they can also kill men that's why people kill them to save their domestic animals and their lives. Some people kill tigers for fun and for their beautiful skin.)

6. What birds and animals from this book do you remember? (Lions, white bears, camels,

eagles, parrots, monkeys and many other animals) (Слайд 13)

7 Who can tell us something about any animal or bird from the Red Book? (1-3 pupils). So

give me your works. (Слайд 14)

8. What must people do to protect animals?

(We must not make fires in the forests, because fires destroy woods and forests. Woods and forests are places where wild animals usually live. We must not frighten animals and birds in the forests and fields. We must not take wild animals from forests and fields. We must help wild birds and animals in winter: we must feed them. We must save wild animals.

We must find the right balance between land, people and animals. We must take care of nature.) - Thank you very much.

7. Развитие навыков аудирования

- OK. And now I'm going to read you a text. Listen and think of a title for it. (Слайдl 15) "Every day we hear our planet is in danger. Take the water for example. It is important for everything on the Earth. But there is little water that is drinkable and good for cooking.. A lot of rivers and lakes are so polluted that even fish cannot live there. Lake Baikal which was famous for its clean water is in great danger because of the factories near it. If the pollution is not stopped, the lake will be lost."

- So, how would you call the text? (Water pollution)

- And now multiple choice. According to the text... (Слайд 16-18) Listen to the text again and get ready to do some tasks...

8. Bocnpиятие, первичное усвоение знаний

- Open your books, please on p. 144 and let's read the text "The Earth is in danger". (Слайд 19) Our planet has a lot of problems. People must protect it and save the Earth. Before reading the text, look at some words from the text and say what they mean: Ex. 21 p. 144 - Now read the text and say why the Earth is in danger.

- So, why is the Earth in danger?

9. Развитие умения говорить на основе прочитанного (Осмысление нового материала и его первичное закрепление)

- Answer my questions, please:

1. What do people think about?

2. Why do people think about water?

3. Is dirty water dangerous for people?

4. Why is the water in Lake Baikal dirty?

5. What can happen if the temperature grows by 3-4 degrees?

6. What people's activities do a lot of harm to nature?

7. What is the main problem nowadays?

- Thank you, You are quite right. Now let's divide this text into parts, and give a name to each of them. This plan will help you to prepare the story "The Earth is in danger». I want you to work in pairs and think of your plans. (Слайд 20)

(1. April 22nd is Earth day. Some people say our planet is in danger.

2. Water is very important for life on the Earth. But in many places water is not drinkable as it is

very dirty.

3. Lake Baikal is the deepest freshwater lake on the Earth. But now it is in great danger, because of the factories which are near it.

4. Nowadays the temperature is rising. If it grows by 3-4 degrees it will be impossible to live on our planet.)

10. Подведение итогов.

-We've done a lot during our lesson. You were active and worked quickly. Now you know that we must protect our planet. Thank you for your work. Marks.

11. Homework.

- At home you will prepare a short summary and ask 5 questions to this text
