Dear Lena,
Sorry I haven’t written
for so long because I had a great time in Washington, DC.
I liked this city!
Especially I liked to travel in the center of the US capital. It is so green and so clean. I can say without doubt that Washington is a fantastic
place! When we meet, I will tell you many interesting things that happened to me
in Washington, DC. I had been dreaming about my journey for a long time. And now I want to tell
you about the most exciting news! I’m going to visit
your hometown Vladimir!
You’ve told me so many
interesting facts about this city. Frankly speaking, I’m really keen on its
history.Vladimir is one of the most beautiful ancient
cities in Russia. I’ve read a lot about the foundation of the
cityand its princes. I must say I was impressed by the
architecture of Bogolyubovo. To tell the truth I didn’teven know
anything about it. I found out that it’s a settlement
in Suzdalsky District of Vladimir Oblast and located some 10
kilometers northeast of Vladimir. The fact is that it was built between 1158
and 1165 by the order of Andrey Bogolyubsky and
moreover people believe that Bogolyubovo was founded on the spot where Bogolyubsky saw
a miraculous vision of the Theotokos, who commanded
him to build a church and a monastery on this spot! That’s unbelievable! Besides, I’ve looked over a lot
of photos of this place. There're so fascinating and beautiful temple, churchand monastery. The
latter is the most wonderful one.Bogolyubsky monastery has
very beautiful blue domes.I’ve never seen such an interesting
color! They are breathtaking! I believe that
the other places of Vladimir and The Vladimir region are no less
beautiful. And I hope you will show it to me.
Well, I have to go now. We’re going to see
the Capitol. Tell me more about your city. What else do
you know about Bogolyubovo? What other interesting places can I visit in Vladimir? What is the
first place I should visit once I arrive there?
Looking forward to your answer. Keep in touch.
Best wishes,
Jane
