  Talking about Ubileynaya Street, of course, we think about the pond which is on the territory of this street. The mentioned pond is one of the three ones. The names of the rest are The South-eastern pond and The Eastern pond. And without any doubt, the history of Ubileynaya Street is closely connected with the history of The pond Ubileynyj.

  On the 3 rd of July in 1960 first cubic meters of earth were removed from the place where The Eastern pond (Mojkina dacha) should be. Directorate, the party committee of the factory appealed to the heads of departments and to society asking for help in constructing.
  In 1965 the pond became active. According to the suggestion of the initiators of the construction, it was named The Eastern lake. Its area is 4 hectares, its depth is 7 meters, its volume is 250,000 cubic meters, exchange of water is 8-10 times a year.

  The pond Ubileynyj is one more handiwork made by the workers of the machine factory. Its building began in 1965,the first phase of the reservoir was full in 1968, the second in 1969. At that time it was the largest reservoir of our town. Its area is 13 hectares, this pond links to the eastern edge of the town and is a five minute walk from the bus stop.

  All the having been built ponds are the so called ‘kids’ of the plant collectivity. But as a rule, their building is connected with concrete names. For example, The South-eastern pond is connected with the name of the chief of motor depot – A.H.Timofeev; The Eastern pond – with the name of the chief of road-traffic area A.K.Zagiko; The pond Ubileynyj with the names S.I.Zolotuha, V.H.Pishulin, N.A.Goleshev.

  In 1970 the territory around The pond Ubileynyj was rearranged. There were built towers for diving, covered swings, rescue station, medical cabinet, locker-rooms, sports grounds, tents. And it is to be said that all the mentioned objects work nowadays. From that days the café ‘Fairy tale’ has been working. Besides, this territory became the place where sports events held.

People from all over the town come here to swim, to take part in sport competitions. In summer, autumn these are races, playing basketball, volleyball; in winter this is skiing. This is Ubileynaya Street itself.
