·
What presents
did Donkey get on his birthday?
A jar of honey
A big balloon

An empty pot
A burst balloon

III Winnie-the-Pooh poems
How
sweet to be a Cloud
Floating
in the Blue!
Every
little Cloud
Always
sings aloud!
How
sweet to be a Cloud
Floating
in the Blue!
It makes
him very proud
To be a
little Cloud!
IY Конкурс стихотворений
1. It's a very funny thought that, if
Bears were Bees,
They'd
build their nests at the bottom of trees.
And
that being so (if the Bees were Bears),
We
shouldn't have to climb up all these stairs.
2.
A Thought
If I were John and
John were Me,
Then he'd be six and
I'd be three.
If John were Me and I
were John,
I shouldn't have
these trousers on.
3. Rice Pudding
What is the matter with Mary Jane?
She's crying with all her might and
main,
And she won't eat her pudding –
rice pudding again –
What is the matter with Mary
Jane?
What is the matter with Mary Jane?
I've promised her dolls and a daisy
chain,
And a book about animals – all in
vain -
What is the matter with Mary
Jane?
What is the matter with Mary Jane?
She's perfectly well, and she
hasn't a pain;
But, look at her, now she's
beginning again! -
What is the matter with Mary
Jane?
What is the matter with Mary Jane?
I've promised her sweets and a ride
in the train,
And I've begged her to stop for a
bit and explain -
What is the matter with Mary
Jane?
What is the matter with Mary Jane?
She's perfectly well, and she
hasn't a pain,
And it's lovely rice pudding for
dinner again! -
What is the matter with Mary
Jane?
4. The Good Little Girl
It's funny how often they say to
me, "Jane?
Have you been a good girl?
Have you been a good
girl?"
And when they have said it, they
say it again,
Have you been a good girl?
Have you been a good
girl?"
I go to a party, I go out to tea,
I go to an aunt for a week at the
sea,
I come back from school or playing
a game;
Wherever I come from, it's always
the same:
"Well? Have you been a good
girl, Jane?"
It's always the end of the
loveliest day:
Have you been a good girl?
Have you been a good
girl?"
I went to the Zoo, and they waited
to say:
"Have you been a good
girl?
Have you been a good
girl?"
Well, what did they think that I
went there to do?
And why should I want to be bad at
the Zoo?
And should I be likely to say if I
had?
So that's why it's funny of Mummy
and Dad,
This asking and asking, in case I
was bad,
"Well? Have you been a good
girl, Jane?"
5. Furry Bear
If I were a bear,
And a big bear too,
I shouldn’t much care
If it froze or snew;
I shouldn’t much mind
If it snowed or friz—
I’d be all fur-lined
With a coat like his!
For I’d
have fur boots and a brown fur wrap,
And brown fur knickers and a big fur cap.
I’d have a fur muffle-ruff to cover my jaws,
And brown fur mittens on my big brown paws.
With a big brown furry-down up to my head,
I’d sleep all the winter in a big fur bed.
I often wish I
were a King,
And then I could do anything.
If only I were
King of Spain,
I’d take my hat off in the rain.
If only I were
King of France,
I wouldn’t brush my hair for aunts.
I think, if I
were King of Greece,
I’d push things off the mantelpiece.
If I were King
of Norroway,
I’d ask an elephant to stay.
If I were King
of Babylon,
I’d leave my button gloves undone.
If I were King
of Timbuctoo,
I’d think of lovely things to do.
If I were King
of anything,
I’d tell the soldiers, «I’m the King!»
Halfway down the stairs
is a stair
where i sit.
there isn’t any other stair
quite like it.
i’m not at the bottom,
i’m not at the top;
so this is the stair
where I always stop.
Halfway up the stairs
Isn’t up
And it isn’t down.
It isn’t in the nursery,
It isn’t in town.
And all sorts of funny thoughts Run round my head.
It isn’t really
Anywhere!
It’s somewhere else
Instead!
8.Now we are six
When I was
one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be six
now and forever.
На
Я
What
shall I call
My
dear little dormouse?
His
eyes are small,
But
his tail is e-nor-mouse.
I
sometimes call him Terrible John,
'Cos
his tail goes on -
And
on -
And
on.
And I
sometimes call him Terrible Jack,
'Cos his
tail goes on to the end of his back.
And I
sometimes call him Terrible James,
'Cos he
says he likes me calling him names...
But I
think I shall call him Jim,
'Cos I am
fond of him.
13.
No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes.
It's flying from somewhere
As fast as it can,
I couldn't keep up with it,
Not if I ran.
But if I stopped holding
The string of my kite,
It would blow with the wind
For a day and a night.
And then when I found it,
Wherever it blew,
I should know that the wind
Had been going there too.
So then I could tell them
Where the wind goes...
But where the wind comes from
Nobody knows.
15. Daffodowndilly
|
She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
'Winter is dead.
'

14. Twinkletoes
|
|
When the sun
Shines through the leaves of the apple-tree,
When the sun
Makes shadows of the leaves of the apple-tree,
Then I pass
On the grass
From one leaf to another,
From one leaf to its brother,
Tip-toe, tip-toe!
Here I go!

The King’s Breakfast
1. The King asked the Queen
And
the Queen asked the Dairymaid:
“Could
we have some butter
For
the Royal slice of bread?”
2. The Queen asked the Dairymaid,
The
Dairymaid said: “Certainly,
I’ll go
and tell the cow now
Before
she goes to bed.”
3.The Dairymaid, she curtsied,
And
went and told the Alderney:
“Don’t
forget the butter
For
the Royal slice of bread.”
4. The Alderney said sleepily:
“You’d
better tell His Majesty
That many
people nowadays
Like
marmalade instead.”
5. The Dairymaid said, “Fansy!”
And
went to see Her Majesty,
She
curtsied to the Queen
And
she turned a little red:
“Excuse
me, Your Majesty,
For
talking of the liberty,
But
marmalade is tasty,
If
it very thickly spread.”
6. The Queen said, “Oh!”
And went
to His Majesty:
“Talking
of the butter for
The
Royal slice of bread,
Many
people think
That
marmalade is nicer.
Would
you like to try
A
little marmalade instead?”
7. The King said, “Bother!”
And then
he said, “Oh, dear me!”
The King
sobbed, “Oh, dear me!”
And went
back to bed.
“Nobody,
- he whispered,
“Could
call me a fussy man;
I only
want a little bit
Of butter
for my bread!”
8. The Queen said, “There, there!
And
went to he Dairymaid,
The
Dairymaid said , “There, there!”
And
went to the shed.
The
cow said, “There, there!
I
didn’t really mean it;
Here’s
milk for his porridgе
And
butter for his bread!”
9. The Queen took the butter
And
brought it to His Majesty;
The King
said, “Butter, eh?”
And
bounced out of bed.
“Nobody,”
he said,
As he
kissed her tenderly,
“Nobody,”
he said ,
As he
slid down the banisters,
“Nobody,
my darling!
Could
call me a fussy man
But I do
like a little bit
Of butter
for my bread”
