The theme:
Animals.
Objectives:
Language competence
To arrange and to consolidate previously learnt
lexical and grammar material.
To revise the verbs: can, to do, to be.
To introduce pupils the new words, the animals
habitat: in the garden, in the river, in the forest, in the house, in the zoo.
To revise vocabulary “Animals” using communicative
approach.
Communicative competence
To teach pupils listening, speaking, reading and
writing skills.
Cultural competence
To widen pupils’ knowledge using games, riddles,
puzzles.
Materials: pictures
“Habitat”, cards with animals, colour paper, tape.
Procedure of the lesson:

b) Announcing
the goals of the lesson.
Dear boys and girls! Today we are
going to travel to a wonderful and beautiful country. You will not be children
there. You will be animals there. We will guess many puzzles, play many
interesting games and solve many tasks there. Are you ready to travel?
Pupils: Yes, we are.
Close your eyes and and let's count
from 1 up to 10 altogether.

Teacher:
Dear animals, let's divide into three groups: yellow, red and orange.
(The
teacher divides the class into groups, taking turns pointing to the pupil and
calling yellow, red and orange)
Teacher:
Orange, raise your hands! Come here. You are the command of orange. If you will
be the first each time you will get an orange card.
Yellow,
raise your hands! Come here. You are the command of yellow. If you will be the
first each time you will get a yellow card.
Red,
raise your hands! Come here. You are the command of red. If you will be the
first each time you will get a red card.
1. The
first task for you. Look around. There are many tracks of animals in the class.
Find your tracks and make up words - the names of the animals. If you are the
first - you will be the winner.
(By
the music, the teams searching for tracks of animals, painted in team colours
and make up words. Who made it faster, will get a card).
Summarize
the first contest.
2. Another
task for you. I'll give you the envelopes with sentences, which were broken by
a cruel wizard. You must make up your sentences from these pieces. Who will be
the first - will be the winner.
(By
the music pupils make sentences of individual words that are in special
envelopes for each team).
Summing
up, and giving the card for each team.
3. The
last task for you. You made up the text from the pieces of paper. This is a
puzzle about animals, as you have understood. Read the puzzle to your friends
from other commands and they must guess what animal this is. (pupils from one
team read their riddle to other teams. Those who guess – get a colour card)
Summing
totals. Identifying winners.
