Washington
stands on the Mississippi river.
Washington
isn’t in any state. It is in the District of Columbia. That’s what the letters
DC in the name of the city stand for. Washington is named after the second
president of the USA. The climate is not severe here, although it can be too
cool in the summer. The level of pollution is so high that it’s really horrible
for people.
The White
House is the home of the President and the First Lady. It is not possible for
an ordinary people to go inside it. All the Presidents of the USA have lived
here. There is four-sided stone structure which honours the “Father of the
Country”, General, and the President of the USA-George Washington. The
Jefferson Memorial can be seen from the White House. It’s a very wonderful
place, surround by cherry trees. It was dedicated on the 200th anniversary
of Jefferson’s birth so it was opened in 1903. There are a lot of museums here
some foreign embassies are in Washington and some in New York.
