As you know, the UK consists of 4 parts : England, Wales, Scotland and the Northern Ireland. Scotland is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, situated in the north of Great Britain.
The country is divided into Highlands and Lowlands.
The emblem of Scotland is a thistle. This plant saved the country from an enemy invasion. According to the legend, on a dark autumn night of 1263 the Vikings decided to attack a Scottish village.
They came in their bare feet so as to not awaken the Scottish warriors in the village. But the thorns of the thistle hurt their bare feet. bare feet Their howls of pain pierced the silence and the Scots awoke to fight the enemy.

Bagpipes – national musical instrument of Scotland. Bagpipes are used in military parades of Scotland and also in Scottish folk festivals.
Scotland is the land of mysteries. Everyone knows about the Loch Ness, Monster. It is the creature living in Loch Ness Lake in the Scottish Highlands.
Scientists have investigated the Loch and taken pictures but no scientific explanation of the mystery has been given.
