План-конспект урока
“LONDON IS THE CAPITAL OF THE UK. DISCOVERING PLACES OF INTEREST IN LONDON”
Занятие разработано на основе УМК М.З. Биболетовой «Enjoy English 3» с использованием различных дополнительных источников.
Задачи урока:
· социокультурная – знакомство с достопримечательностями Лондона.
· практическая (учебная) – развитие умения читать (с целью общего охвата содержания, детального понимания, с целью извлечения конкретной информации);
- формирование навыков говорения (монологической речи);
- развитие умения воспринимать на слух сообщения с полным охватом и детальным пониманием;
- развитие произносительных навыков (сопутствующая задача).
· развивающая – развитие самостоятельности;
- развитие способности к распределению внимания, осмысленности восприятия;
- развитие способности осуществлять продуктивные речевые действия.
· воспитательная – формирование способности к совместной работе, в группе, достигать согласия в условиях различных взглядов;
- воспитание чувства ответственности за совместную работу;
- воспитание уважительного отношения к достопримечательностям и культурным ценностям Великобритании.
Оснащение урока: иллюстрации, карта Лондона, мультимедийные проектор, аудиомагнитафон, видеомагнитафон.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
- Good morning boys and girls. I’m glad to meet you. How are you?
- What day is it today?
- Let’s start the lesson now.
II. Презентация темы
- Do you know the author of these words: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life”? (Doctor Johnson)
- What can you tell about this city? Do you want to go to London? What places of interest would you like to visit there?
III. Тренировка лексических навыков
- Let’s listen to the words on the topic “London”. Can you guess their meaning? Now I want you to open your books and read these words after the speaker.
Учитель предлагает учащимся прослушать слова и догадаться об их значении. Затем дети слушают и произносят слова за диктором (с опорой на упражнение в учебнике или на слайд).
IV. Работа по видеосюжету
- And now we are going to watch the video about London and its sights (places of interest). After watching it I would like you to answer my questions:
1. What places have you seen?
2. What sights would you like to visit?
Учащимся предлагается просмотреть видеосюжет о Лондоне и ответить на вопросы.
V. Совершенствование навыков техники чтения вслух и про себя
- Will you open your books, page 65, exercise 16. Look at the pictures, please. Let’s match the postcards with the texts describing the places of interest. You will have 4 minutes to do this task. Then we shall check up it all together.
Учитель организует выполнение упражнения 16, с.65 из учебника. Ученики читают текст про себя и соотносят картинки и рассказы о достопримечательностях Лондона. Затем учитель предлагает им назвать номера рассказов и буквы соответствующих изображений. (Приложение 1)
- Now let’s learn to pronounce the names of these places. You can find them in exercise 17, page 66. Listen to the speaker and repeat the word combinations after him.

- Now you are to listen to the tape. On the tape you will hear students talking about London. As listen to their comments complete the following sentences. The first letter of the missing words will help you.

- I want you to look at the map of London. Find the places you know and name them. Find and name new places. Try to remember them.
- Now look at another map. Write down in English the names of the places of interest in London that you remember.

IX. Совершенствование навыков чтения (групповая работа)
- Well, children, you have found about two new places: Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge. Choose one of the two. Arrange the sentences about it in the right order and.

Discovering Places of Interest in London
1) Tourists in London always want to visit Westminster and see Big Ben. They want to see the clock in its tower and to hear the bells. Big Ben is really a bell. You hear it every hour. It is a big bell. It weighs (весит) 13,720 kilograms. It has a deep tone (звук) and you can hear it on the radio: “This is the BBC. The time is six o’clock.” And then you hear the deep boom of Big Ben six times.
2) You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames. The Tower is very old. It has a long and very cruel history. It is not just one building. The tall building is the White Tower, the oldest part of the Tower of London. The Bloody Tower is near the river. You do not see blood there today. But the Bloody Tower has a history of blood – the blood of men, women and even children.
Now the King and the Queen of Britain do not live in the Tower. When the Queen is in London, she stays in Buckingham Palace.
3) Standing not far from the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. The legend says that Westminster Abbey was founded by St Peter (святой Петр) himself. We know that Westminster Abbey was built by King Edward in 1065. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey. Some famous English people are also buried (похоронены) here. The funeral service (поминальная служба) for Diana, Princess of Wales took place in Westminster Abbey in September 1997.
4) The famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. The country’s leaders speak in the Houses of Parliament. The men and women there are the voice of the British people. The Houses of Parliament stand beside the river Thames. You can go on a boat from Westminster and see London from the river. You can also see Big Ben and the Houses of parliament from Westminster Bridge.
