  4)      Основной этап урока

  1.      Ознакомительное чтение

  T: Let’s form 4 groups. Each pupil in the group gets a small part of the text. Read these parts of the text and tell each other. Listen to each other very attentively. Then one pupil from the group tells what you have known. ( метод «Ажурная пила».)

   

  I. Children in Britain start school when they are five and stay at school until they are sixteen or older.

  Many children in Britain attend nursery school from the age of about
  three, but these schools are not compulsory. Compulsory education begins
  at the age of five, when children go to primary school. Primary education
  lasts for six years. They attend the infant school from five to seven and then
  junior school until they are eleven. (слайд №6)

   

  II. Then pupils go to secondary school. Children study 10 subjects: English,
  history, art, music, mathematics, science, geography, physical education and a foreign language.      Most secondary schools teach French and some schools offer Spanish, German, Italian
  and Russian. The first three are called "core" subjects. Pupils take examina-
  tions in the core subjects at the age of 7, 11 and 14.

  After five years of secondary education, pupils take the General Certifi-
  cate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examination: a) advanced; o) ordinary. Most pupils take exami nations in all subjects. (слайд №7)

   

  III. Compulsory education ends at sixteen. Some people choose to stay at
  secondary school for a further two years. Other people leave secondary
  school at sixteen and go to colleges of further education.

  Higher education begins at eighteen and usually lasts for three or four
  years. Students go to universities, polytechnics or colleges of higher educa-
  tion. There are now about 80 universities. (слайд №8)

   

  IV. Some parents choose to send their children to private schools where they
  pay for their education.

  State education is free. More than 90% of Britain's children attend state
  schools. State schools are modern, grammar, and comprehensive. Modern schools give more professional education, grammar schools prepare students for universities, comprehensive schools give general education. ( слайды 9, 10)

   

  2.      Монологическая речь.

  T: Tell what you have known.

  Представитель от каждой группы делает сообщение. Входе сообщений ребят появляются слайды, констатирующие содержание текста.

   

  3.      Контроль по общему содержанию текста.

  T: Say what types of schools are there in Great Britain.

  T: Each group should make a cinquain about school.

  Каждой группе предлагается написать синквейн о школе.

  Стадия рефлексии

  T: Finish your work in groups:

  If you are ready, read aloud your cinquains.

  Учащиеся зачитывают получившиеся синквейны, при работе над которыми они опирались  на  личный опыт и информацию из прочитанного текста.

  T: Look at the cluster again. What new details can we supplement our cluster with?

  Учащиеся дополняют кластер новыми фактами, информацией.

  5) Заключительный этап урока

  T:  I like that you were very active today. Your marks are …..
