    Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre
    In 1839 Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre, a French artist and physicist, in partnership with Niépce invented a camera the first practical photographic method, which was named the daguerreotype, in 1836. Daguerre used iodide of silver and it let him reduce the time of exposure to 15-20 minutes.
