Theme: The Future Continuous Tense.


Type of the lesson: consolidation of grammar material.


Objectives:

  • to use modern techniques in studying English grammar;

  • to review the rule of using The Future Continuous Tense;

  • to consolidate the using of The Future Continuous Tense.


Materials: computers with headphones, disk with program “English Level 8”, disks with teacher’s tasks (for every pupil), pictures.


Preparation: teacher makes disks with tasks, pictures.

Plan:

  1. Organization moment.

  2. Program “English Level 8”

    • Introduction of the rule

    • Activities:

  1. Change each of the sentences using The Future Continuous Tense;

  2. Open the brackets, use The Future Continuous Tense;

  3. Answer the questions using the words given in brackets.

  1. Teacher’s tasks (disks with tasks, pictures). Activities:

  1. My present;

  2. The weekend;

  3. Picture (positive and negative sentences).

  1. Checking (marks).


Procedure:

  1. Organization moment.

T-er: Good morning pupils. Today we will review the rule of using The Future Continuous Tense. We will do different exercises with the help of computers in order that you remember the usage of this tense. We will start from the revision of the rule. Please, switch on the program.

  1. Program “English Level 8”

Pupils work with the program. Teacher helps them.

  • Introduction of the rule

  • Activities:

  1. Change each of the sentences using The Future Continuous Tense

  1. My friend was preparing for his written test when I came.= My friend will be preparing for his test when I come.

  2. Yesterday at 10 o’clock my elder brother was listening to the tape-recorder.= Tomorrow at 10 o’clock my elder brother will be listening to the tape-recorder.

  3. Nelly was doing her homework yesterday morning.= Nelly will be doing her homework tomorrow morning.

  1. Open the brackets, use The Future Continuous Tense

  1. At this time tomorrow we… (to have) an English class.= At this time tomorrow we will be having an English class.

  2. They are supposed to be very busy then. They… (to prepare) for their examinations.= They are supposed to be very busy then. They will be preparing for their examinations.

  3. When you come we… (to train) in the gym.= When you come we will be training in the gym.

  1. Answer the questions using the words given in brackets

  1. What will Peter be doing tomorrow in the study? (to read) = Peter will be reading the articles in the study.

  2. What will they be doing at the conference? (to discuss) = They will be discussing about the system of education in Kazakhstan at the conference.

  3. What will the students be doing in front of the institute? (to wait for) = The students will be waiting for their teacher in front of the institute.

Pupils do the tasks and the computer checks them.

T-er: Who has done? Please, take the next task.
