The structures There is… / There are… We use structures there is to say
where the thing is now, ……. Its whereabouts. For example: There is a
book on the table. And we use the structure there are to inform where the
things are: There are two armchairs in the living room.
We form the interrogative forms
of the structures by replacing the formal word there and auxiliary verbs is,
are.
