M.V.Lomonosov (1711 - 2011)
M.V.Lomonosov is the outstanding scientist, thinker, educator. On the 19th of November 2011 we’ll celebrate the 300th anniversary of his birthday.

The Place of His Birth
Lomonosov M.V. was born in 1711 in the village of Mishaninskaya near Kholmogory. It is situated on the island Kurostrov.

Later on the village was renamed into Lomonosovo in honor of Lomonosov
Fishing was the main trade of his father. Vasiliy Lomonosov had a small ship. He took his son to the White sea for fishing.

When Michael was a small boy he learnt to read with the help of church books. Since that time he was dreaming about education.

Look at the map. Here you can see his way from Kholmogory to Moscow. He went there with oboz when he was 19. It was not easy for him but Lomonosov entered the Slavic Greek Latin Academy .

The Place of Lomonosov’s Study
Lomonosov was one of the best students. He studied Latin. His life was very difficult, he had only 3 kopeks income. But his hard work helped him to finish the Academy much earlier.

University of Marburg
In 1736 Lomonosov was sent to the Marburg University as the best student.
There he studied Physics, Philosophy, Mathematics and Languages.

Moscow Lomonosov University
When Lomonosov came back home he began to compare our education and foreign education. He understood that quality of our education was not perfect. He wanted to change something and in 1755 the Moscow State University was founded.

Scientific Investigations
M.V.Lomonosov made many important discoveries in different fields of science: physics, chemistry, astronomy. The last period of Lomonosov’s activity was connected with his scientific investigation in navigation. He tried to find a short sea route from the West to the East through the Arctic Ocean. In this field as well he was ahead of his age.

Works of Lomonosov are the most significant pages of Russian literature in the 18th century. He wrote verses, odes and poems. He also laid the basis for the scientific study of the Russian language, he wrote the first Russian grammar.

M.V.Lomonosov was also a talented artist. He revived the ancient art of stained glass mosaic in Russia, and he himself created several stained glass pictures.

1765 – the year of grief
Lomonosov caught a bad cold and died on the 15th of April. He was only 54. . He was buried in the cemetery of Alexander Nevsky Monastery in St.Petersburg.

Данный урок проводился в 7 классе в преддверии празднования 300-летия со Дня рождения великого ученого, мыслителя М.В.Ломоносова. Главной целью урока было расширение знаний о жизненном пути Ломоносова М.В. Кроме получения информации по теме учащиеся смогли принять участие в творческой деятельности (решить кроссворд, выполнить задания по тексту, создать групповые мини-проекты). Урок был интересен учащимся разнообразием видов деятельности (чтение, диалог, монолог и др.) Процент успеваемости и качества знаний в результате составил 100%.
