Theme: Mass Media in Kazakhstan. Mass Media. The Media in my life

Aim: Talking about Mass Media in Kazakhstan. Mass Media. The Media in my life

 Objectives: pupils will be able to :

- Speaking about favoutite TV programmes in groups, discussion different kind of questions.

-develop logical thinking, grammatical skills, motivation of studying of English language, interest of pupils to studied language

-stimulate to independent work, ability to work in collective

Visual aids: cards, grammar chart.

New approaches to teaching and learning :Critical thinking ,assessment for  and learning ,using ICT Teaching talented and gifted Children ,responding to age –related differences in teaching ,manages and leaders.

Methods and strategies :Dialogue ,self –evalution ,Jigsaw method ,Association, types of Critical thinking.

Procedure of the lesson:

Org. moment: Greeting. Talking with a pupil on duty.

Flesh presentation : Mobile phone. Сотовые телефоны.

Checking up the home task: Ex.4,p.151 words to study. Match the words with the definitions.: a modem, a mouse, a computer phone, a disk, the Internet, computer nerd.

1.      We are a reading nation. It is impossible to imagine our life without newspapers and magazines. Today Kazakhstan can be proud of the variety of newspapers and magazines circulating through the country.  One can find newspapers of all kinds: national and local, for children and teenagers, for people of different age, for men and for women. The pages of newspapers carry articles on industry, economy, politics and social life.

2.      Many newspapers carry materials about international events, about life of the people in all parts of the world. Sports fans can read about sports events in Kazakhstan and other countries. Practically all newspapers give radio and TV programmes, weather forecasts. Sometimes you can read some sensational and extraordinary material. There are many newspapers in our country:’ Egimen Kazakhstan’, ‘Pro Sport’, Nur-Astana’, Express K’.

3.      The young people prefer reading “New generation”. “Moscow News” is newspaper for youth. Its articles are devoted to the youth generation. They describe the life of the young people in our country and abroad. They touch upon the problems of the youth. Besides the newspapers, there are a lot of magazines  in our country. Some of them are very interesting, for example: “Tourism”, “Ecology”.

Reading the text and discussing  “ The weather Forecast”

              I remember a holiday completely ruined one late autumn by the weather report of the local newspaper: “ Heavy showers, with thunderstorms, may be expected today”

     So we gave up our picnic and stopped indoors all  day, waiting for the rain. And people passed by our house as joyfully and merrily as they could.

By 12 o’clock it became quite hot. The sun was shining brightly, there was no clouds in the sky and we wondered when the heavy showers and thunderstorms were going to begin.

 “Oh! They’ll come in the afternoon , you’ll find”, we said to each other. At one o’clock the landlady came in and asked if we were going out as it was such a lovely day. “NO,no, we replied. “ we don’t want to be wet – no.no.”. In the afternoon there were still no sings of rain, but we tried to cheer up… The day was over.

  The next morning we read that it was going to be warm, fine day. We put on our light things and went out. Half an hour after we had started, it began to rain hard and bitterly cold wind began to blow.

The weather is such a thing that I never can understand.

4.      What happened the next day?

5.      What do you think about the weather and the weather  forecost?
