He wrote a lot at that time. In 1837 Pushkin was shot by Dantes not far from St.Petersburg.
Ученицы старших классов продолжают беседу о книге А. С. Пушкина «Капитанская дочка»
We have a short interval, let’s see some books on the stand. I see the «Captain’s daughter» in Russian. I should say that the book is very interesting and I’ve read a lot about Pugachev’s uprising.
Do you feel sorry for poor Masha?
But she remained alive. I feel sorry for Pugachev. He had lost several battles and then the tsar army arrested him and brought to the Russian tsarin Catherin II. She ordered to kill him.
You know, Pugachev was cruel and had killed a lot of people. I cannot feel sorry for him.
Still the peasants joined his army and took part in that uprising. The tsarin oppressed the peasants.
It’s true. But why do you want to get some more Pushkin’s novels?
I’ve heard that the other novels by this writer are not less interesting.
(Начинает тихо звучать музыка Свиридова «Метель»)
Oh, the interval is over, let’s hurry up to our places.
Музыка звучит (выходит ученик, изображающий Гринева).
Гринев: It happened on my way to the Belogorsk fortress. The weather was very bad, it began to snow. Soon the horses stopped, they couldn’t move any more.
Suddenly we saw a strange man, he looked like a peasant. The man agreed to snow the way to the station. I gave him a hare-coat. It was my first meeting with Pugachev. I came safely to the Belogorsk fortress and began to serve in the tsarin army. Soon Pugachev and his people attacked the Belogorsk fortress and took it. They killed a lot of people who fought against them. But Pugachev didn’t kill me. He remembered me who had given him the hare-coat. And Pugachev freed me.
Учитель: Can you tell us what is the name of this man?
Учитель: What is the other main character of the book «The Captain’s daughter»?
Ученик: The other main character in the book is Shvabrin.
He loved Masha and wanted to marry her. But Masha was against it and she wrote a letter to Grinev. Soon Grinev came to Belogorsk fortress. He asked Pugachev to free the girl. He told Pugachev all the truth, Pugachev felt sorry for poor Masha and let her to go with Grinev.
Can tell me the title of the book?
Учитель: Let’s recollect the plot of this book.
Ученица рассказывает о Троекурове и Дубровском.
Troekurov and old Dubrovsky were close friends and spent much time together. They visited each other and had a good time.
Old Dubrovsky had a son, Vladimir by name, who studied at the University.
Troekurov had a young and beautiful daughter, Masha by name. Troekurov was rich and cruel and Dubrovsky was poor and proud.
Once Troekurov became angry with Dubrovsky and decided to take the village Kistenevka from Dubrovsky. At last he did it. Dubrovsky lost Kistenevka.
After that he felt seriously ill. He asked his son to return to Kistenevka. After Vladimir had come back, old Dubrovsky died.
