по теме “The Heritage of the Russian North”

(Malye Korely)

Цели урока:

социокультурный аспект: знакомство с памятником деревянного зодчества Архангельской области, с культурой родного края, расширение знаний о регионе, в котором проживают учащиеся.

воспитательный аспект: воспитание уважительного отношения к культурным достопримечательностям родного края.

развивающий аспект: развитие навыков работы в группах, парах, совершенствование навыков работы над проектом.

учебный аспект: формирование лексических навыков по теме, совершенствование навыков чтения, аудирования.

Речевой материал: лексический и грамматический материал цикла уроков по теме.

Оборудование: тексты по теме с заданиями на множественный выбор, презентация по теме, задания для парной и групповой работы, задания для индивидуальной работы, аудиозапись по теме, магнитола, компьютер, мультимедийный проектор.

Ход урока:

Not far from Arkhangelsk there is a picturesque place. It is an outdoor museum of Wooden Architecture which was opened there at the beginning of the ‘70s.

So, we are going to speak about the Museum of Wooden Architecture Malye Korely. Today at the lesson we’ll have a talk about it.

Malye Korely

Malye Korely is a village in Primorsky Disrict of the _______1________ Region. The main sight of the village is Malye Korely Museum. This unique open-air museum located 25 kilometers from Arkhangelsk is the world’s largest collection of Russian _____2_____ architectural monuments of the northern land dating from 16th-19th centuries. Malye Korely ______3______ a member of the Association of European Open Air Museums in 1983.

The museum was created on July 17, 1964. Its display comprises buildings that were ______4_____ here from distant settlements of our region, from old villages and townships. So, Malye Korely is divided into four sectors spread over some 140 hectares of rolling forested landscape. They are:

  • The Kargopol and the Onega sector, representing the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk region, the Onega river and villages around the Kargopol town;

  • The Dvina sector, representing the Northern Dvina river;

  • The Mezen sector, representing the Mezen river;

  • The Pinega sector, representing the Pinega river.

There are plans to add two additional sectors. These sectors represent distinct historic parts of the vast Arkhangelsk Province.

There are a lot of great monuments in the museum: the St. Nicholas Church (1584) in the village of Lyavlya, Primorsky District; a triple church ensemble in the village of Nyonoksa, the city of Severodvinsk, consisting of the Trinity Church (1727), the St. Nicholas Church (1762), and the bell-tower (1834); the Mariya Kunitsyna Estate, a house of a rich fisherman (beginning of the 20th century), in Arkhangelsk.

     Урок английского языка по теме «The Heritage of the Russian North» для учащихся 8 класса посвящён 50-летнему юбилею уникального памятника деревянного зодчества Архангельской области Малые Корелы.     В ходе урока учащиеся знакомятся с культурным наследием родного края, расширяют знания о регионе, в котором проживают. Цель урока достигается путём включения учащихся в различные виды деятельности: чтение, говорение, аудирование, а также через организацию парной, групповой работы, использование проектной методики.
