1-The Houses of Parliament, also known as the Palace of Westminster is the seat of Britain's two parliamentary houses, the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

In 1099, King Edward the Confessor built the Palace of Westminster, situated on a central site near the river Thames. In 1834 a fire destroyed the Palace of Westminster, and the whole rebuilding was finished in 1870. It includes the Clock Tower, Victoria Tower, House of Commons, House of Lords, Westminster Hall and the Lobbies.

It is a very important church because the coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place here. Here you can see the tombs of many British kings and queens and other famous people and the beautiful Henry VII Chapel.

4 - Buckingham Palace is the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. It was built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham. It is like a small town, with a police station, two post offices, a hospital, a disco, and a cinema. There are 775 rooms in the Palace. Changing of the guard happens every day at 11.a.m. (Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. In measurements, the building is 108 metres long across the front, 120 metres deep (including the central quadrangle) and 24 metres high.)

5- Trafalgar Square is a geographical center of London. It’s the largest among London’s squares. It was named Trafalgar Square after the victory won by the British fleet over the French-Spanish fleet in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.In the center of the square there is Nelson Column – the monument to the great English admiral. The column is 160 feet tall and the statue of the admiral decorates the top of it. Trafalgar square also contains a large number of statues and two fountains. The square is surrounded by many great buildings: National Gallery, the Canada House and the South Africa House. There are many pigeons in the square and Londoners like to feed them.

7- Now we want to tell you about the Tower of London. You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames.  It is a very old building which has a long and cruel history. 9-10- Hyde Park, which opened to the public in 1637, is the largest of several royal parks in London Hyde park covers a large territory and hosts many large events, including celebrations and concerts. We can visit there : the Serpentine, a large artificial lake, where we can boat and swim; Diana Memorial Fountain in honor of princess Diana. Marble Arch- a gateway to Buckingham Palace. Hyde Park is also popular for its Speaker's Corner. Here, every Sunday people stand on a soap box and say their views on political, religious or other items.
