Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку

«Музыкальный ринг»

для учащихся 8-9 классов

Ход урока



Teacher: Dear friends! Today we’ll have a musical competition. Уou will show your knowledge of English songs and singers, guess melodies, put down lyrics of the songs suggested and what not! Are you ready?

Before we start you have to be divided into two groups. Think of the name for your group. OK, let it be “……………..” and “ ……………….”.


Warm up

To begin with, what music appeals to you (Listen to 3-4 answers).


Guess - game

So, your first contest will be “Guess the melody”. Each group in turn will hear a song and try to guess:

  1. what song it is (1 point)

  2. who the performer is (1 point)

(Each group is given 5 melodies. In my case they were Cold Play, Rhiana, Madonna, Beyonce, the Rolling stones, Lady Gaga, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Adele, the Beatles).


Putting down the words (lyrics)

If you like the song, do you look the words up or just put them down while listening? Now each group will listen to the song suggested and write down the lyrics.

(The teams are given “Yellow Submarine” ( Beatles ) and “Hasta Manana” (Abba)

(The jury are given the lyrics of the two songs. The team who have put down more words win – 10 points. The other team gets from 0 to 5 points, all depends on the number of words written down).


Karaoke

Teacher: I believe you all like Karaoke singing. Now you are given a chance to do it here and win. One team is given the words of a song: “Russian Roulette” (Riana ) and another - “Live tomorrow” (Laleh). (The words are given on the screen and on paper as well).

You have some time to listen to the melody to practice a bit.

(The teams in turn sing their songs and get points from 1 to 5).

Now I suggest listening to the professionals how they do it. (Clips are shown on the screen performed by Riana and Laleh).


Musical awareness

Teacher: Now you will be given 3 minutes to name as many singers and groups in English as you can. You will do it in turn (team after team). If one team can’t give an answer for 5 seconds, the floor is given to the opponents.


Conclusion

Teacher: We have come up to the end of the lesson. Now the jury will announce their decision. We congratulate the winners and wish good luck to those who haven’t been so lucky today. See you later.

Краткое описание документа:

Это мероприятие можно провести как на уроке, так и во внеурочное время (например, в рамках фестиваля английского языка). Задания соответствуют уровню учащихся, вызывают неподдельный интерес и желание поучаствовать в конкурсе. К тому же, соревновательный дух привносит ещё больше интереса и эмоций.

Ещё один плюс сценария в том, что легко осуществлять замену заданий (в данном случае песни и мелодии) и подбирать их в соответствии с возрастными критериями учащихся.
