Exciting facts about some English speaking countries

Цели урока:

- расширение страноведческих и лингвистических знаний учащихся;

- совершенствование умений и навыков практического владения английским языком по теме;

- закрепление лексического материала

 

Задачи урока:

Обучающие: применение полученных знаний на практике, оперирование имеющимся потенциалом в конкретной ситуации, закрепление умения и навыков монологической речи, практика аудирования и чтения.

Воспитательные: воспитание уважительного отношения друг к другу, взаимопомощи, воспитание позитивного отношения к культуре страны изучаемого языка, формирование мотивации к изучению английского языка.

Развивающие: развитие умения работать  индивидуально, в коллективе, развитие познавательного интереса к культуре другой страны, закрепление умения наблюдать, сравнивать, развитие творческих способностей.

Компенсаторные: пользоваться языковой и контекстуальной догадкой (интернациональные слова, вычленение ключевых слов текста)

 

Тип урока: Урок применения знаний на практике (с использованием ИКТ).

 

Виды технологий: ИКТ, применение инновационных методов оценивания (тестирование).

Результатом освоения данного урока является овладение обучающимися следующими общими компетенциями :

ОК 6 – работать в коллективе и команде, эффективно общаться с коллегами;

ОК 7 – брат на себя ответственность за работу членов команды, за результат выполнения задания

TEACHER: The world of English speaking countries is interesting, various and amazing. There are a lot of outstanding writers and poets. The culture of the countries is fascinating. People can proud of a great number of achievements in different fields of life. Tourists are admired by a unique nature and landscapes of English-speaking countries. And of course English is the great language.

 

Can you guess - What are we going to speak today?(about English speaking countries)

TEACHER:Today you will learn about the geographical situation of these countries, their capitals, population, official languages, some symbols and some interesting facts.

         One of exciting  English speaking countries is (England) New Zeland. I suggest you to listen to Zhenya and answer the questions about it. 5 min

         The rules of this game are the following: I read you some texts about English-Speaking countries but I will not tell you the name of the country. Try to guess what country it is. If you ready to answer you can cry “STOP” and name the country. If the answer is right you’ll win the points. If the answer is wrong I continue my reading and the other student has right to answer. The student  that will guess more countries gets a card.

The population of this country is over 18 million people. You can meet amazing animals in this country such as panda, kangaroo and many others. It is called sometimes “Oz” or “the Lucky Country” (The Commonwealth of Australia)

Are You Angry, Sir?

One day Mark Twain was travelling in France by train. He was going to a small town near Paris. It was very late at night when he went to sleep. He asked the conductor to wake him up when they got to the town, and went to sleep.

It was early morning when he woke up. The train was already near Paris. Mark Twain was very angry. He ran up to the conductor and cried, "I asked you to wake me up! Why didn't you do it? I am very angry with you!"

The conductor looked at him for a moment and then said, "You may be angry, sir, but not so angry as the American whom I put off' the train instead of you."

   Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, known as the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. Краткое описание документа:

Для поддержания интереса учащихся к иностранному языку на протяжении всего периода обучения большую роль играет введение на уроках элементов страноведения и лингвострановедения. Это содействует воспитанию учащихся в контексте диалога культур, знакомит с общими ценностями, служит опорой для поддержания познавательной мотивации, и формирует способности к общению на иностранном языке. По словам С.Г.Тер-Минасовой «языки должны изучаться в неразрывном единстве с миром и культурой народов, говорящих на этих языках. Преодоление языкового барьера недостаточно для обеспечения эффективного общения между представителями разных культур, для этого нужно преодолеть барьер культурный».
