по теме: « Изобретения, которые потрясли мир»

«Inventions that shook the world»

Форма урока: Комбинированный урок с использованием ИКТ.



Образовательные задачи:

1. Совершенствование навыков употребления прошедших времён (Past Simple, Past Progressive, Past Perfect, Past Perfect- Progressive).

2. Развитие навыков аудирования с извлечением нужной информации.

Сопутствующая задача: Просмотровое чтение с извлечением главной информации.



Воспитательная задача: Воспитание ответственного отношения к учению, трудолюбия, привитие мотивации к изучению английского языка.



Развивающая задача: Развитие познавательной активности обучающихся, развитие слуховой памяти и общеучебных навыков.



Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, диск.

Ход урока

I. Warm up. (5minutes)

Teacher: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Today we are learning new facts and interesting information about some important inventions. We’ll know about computers and umbrellas. Two different things, but both are necessary in modern life. Reading and listening useful information we are going to prepare for your final examination in English. We will be practicing in using English Grammar –Past tenses too.

Look at the screen, please. Read the information on the left and tell me, please, who invented the computer. (Презентация, слайд 2)

Students: It was invented by Konrad Zuse.

Then it was improved by Howard Aiken.

Teacher: That’s OK.

II. Grammar hint. (2 minutes)

Teacher: And now look at this table. Let’s remember when Past Simple, Past Progressive, Past Perfect and Past Perfect-Progressive are used. (слайд 3)

(Учащиеся озвучивают правила использования этих времён)

III. Test. (Using Past Tenses). (12 minutes)

Teacher: Let’s continue our work. Your task is to do the test. It is in your computers. You will learn some more information about computers and remember the Past tenses at the same time. Please, start. You should highlight the right variant. (cлайд 4)

(Обучающиеся выделяют жирным шрифтом правильный вариант)

IV. Checking up the test. (3 minutes)- проверка выполнения (cлайд 5)

V. Reading (for main information). (5 minutes)

Teacher: Boys and girls, look at the screen again! Here you can see interesting information about umbrellas. Have you known that before? What is new for you? (слайд 6).

Student 1: It is new for me that umbrellas were used in Greece and Rome.

Student 2: It was interesting to know that American inventor Fox has created the umbrella.

Student 3: It is new for me that a modern umbrella was invented in the 19th century.

VI. Listening. (15 minutes)

Teacher: Well, children. Listen to the story “Three Umbrellas”. Mark true and false statements . (T, F).

1. Обучающиеся прослушивают текст 2 раза (в наушниках, если есть возможность). (Приложение Audio).

2. Выполняют задания к тексту, отмечая верные и неверные утверждения. (cлайд 7)

3. Проверка выполнения. (слайд 8)

VII. Round off. (5 minutes)

Teacher: That’s OK! You have worked well today. What did you like best?

Student 1: I liked doing the test.

Student 2: It was interesting to learn new facts about computers and umbrellas.

Student 3: I enjoyed listening very much.

Teacher: That’s all right! Listen to your marks. Your homework is to make up 4 sentences, using Past Tenses. The lesson is over. You may be free.

Invention of Computer   Many encyclopedias say that the first computer was developed by Howard H.Aiken (and his team) in America between 1939 and 1944. It was a large-scale, programme-controlled machine which could make a very complex calculation. However, after World War II an important discovery was made that the first computer was, in fact, made in Germany in 1941 by Konrad Zuse. Later Konrad Zuse founded a company in order to build computers that could be used by an engineer or a scienctist. Konrad Zuse also developed the first real programming language, which shows an amazing similarity to today’s most advanced computer languages. Unfortunately, the role of this man, who was years ahead of his time, is still unknown to many people. Maybe for the official history of computers it is impossible to accept that Konrad Zuse was on the wrong side of World War II. Konrad Zuse Howard H. Aiken

How umbrella appeared In ancient Egypt pharaohs used umbrellas. They were very heavy and only rich people could afford them. Usually umbrellas were carried by slaves behind rich people of ancient Rome and Greece. Rainy autumn day in London,1750. David Hanway appeared in the streets of London with a ‘mushroom’ in his hands, which couldn’t fold. Only in 1852 English inventor Fox created an umbrella which we call the grandfather of today’s ones. Light and comfortable, it has become a devoted friend of people all over the world.
