We are here to present our project which we have been working at, through the studying year 2014-2015. Our project is called “toolkit for working with active vocabulary on the textbook material- English world-4” It focuses on the students of the fourth class with advanced study of language.

The number of vocabulary included in each unit is enormous and we decided to develop a series of exercises that helps us to learn vocabulary more effectively- that is the main idea of our work.   This work gives us the opportunity to work out the vocabulary of each unit, its pronunciation, word building and, of course writing. It will help us to improve our English speaking skills.

There are 12 units in the book, and we are ready with 8. Now we are going to tell you the structure of our work. Each unit is subdivided into several tasks. Here they are:

Task number 1: it is dedicated to the words of the unit, their pronunciation and translation. Sometimes we give definitions to those words, find synonyms or antonyms. At our first lessons of the unit when we are getting to know the unit vocabulary, we do not only read the words with correct pronunciation, but discuss the part of speech as well and speak about the word building, such as suffixes: To work- a worker; to build- a builder; Compounds: Showroom; policeman; Converts- a word from one part of speech changes into the other one without any changes; A work- to work; a talk- to talk;

Task number 2: is dedicated to the correct spelling of the words. We may say that it is the simplest task from one hand but we must pay much attention to our handwriting, as we know that it is very important for our future state exams, that is why we work hard at it.

Task number 3: It is more complicated as it has got 3 levels- a, b, c. Every level has its color. There is also a time- period for this task- it is 2 minutes and a half (for all 3 levels). The first “green-12” words of “a-level”- and we may get only- 3 or 4 with minus for it. The second “blue- 19” words of “b- level” ”- and we may get only- 4 or 5 with minus for it. The third “orange-26” words of “c- level” ”- and we may get only- 4 or 5 with minus for it.

Tasks 4 and 5 are dedicated to our short and long memory and attention for sure. In the fourth task we must remember the spelling of the words and write the missing letters into the blanks.   And the fifth one is a funny crossword-puzzle, where we not only develop our memory and attention, but also have much fun.   After such units as 3, 4, and 5 we have keys, with the help of which we correct our mistakes.

Our project is called “toolkit for working with active vocabulary on the textbook material- English world-4”

It focuses on the students of the fourth class with advanced study of language.

The number of vocabulary included in each unit is enormous and we decided to develop a series of exercises that helps us to learn vocabulary more effectively- that is the main idea of our work.

 

This work gives us the opportunity to work out the vocabulary of each unit, its pronunciation, word building and, of course writing.

It will help us to improve our English speaking skills.

 

 

There are 12 units in the book, and we are ready with 8.

Now we are going to tell you the structure of our work.

Task number 1:

 it is dedicated to the words of the unit, their pronunciation and translation.
