Can you imagine a person who hasn’t seen a cat? Cats have been living with people thousands of years and we have accustomed to that. We also have cats at home and we have made up our minds to learn why they are so popular among pets?

Do you know that cats came from Ancient Egypt? 5 thousand years BC cats had been favourite pets for pharaohs.
Ancient Egyptians started esteeming cats after they had killed mice and rats in the pharaoh’s store houses.

Sailors helped cats to spread over the world because they also wanted to save food supplies on their ships from mice and rats. So, cats started their walk across the world.

In Europe cats were considered to be the symbols of freedom and independence.

In Russian language we also have sayings: “No cat – no home”.

1. The “Ashera” is the biggest and the most expensive cat in the world, it costs 25000 – 30000$

Cats are the most popular pets in the world, as almost every 9th person in the world has a cat. Cats are the first animals which had been domesticated by a man. The name of a cat is connected with many superstitions, cats are the heroes of many fairy – tales, songs, films. Cats have been living with people for many centures but people still don’t understand them. To sum up, cats are the cleverest, the nicest, the most elegant creatures in the world!

Cats have been living side by side with people for many centuries, a lot of people have cats at home. We decided to clear up why cats are so popular as pets.
1. Cats are one of the first animals which were domesticated by a man. 5000 years ago cats were the favourite animals of pharaohs.
2. Cats are the symbolic animals in many countries, embodiments of home, freedom and independence.
3. There are a lot of kinds of cats in the world- domestic and wild.
4. According to the international palls, the most-loving country is the USA. Every third person in our class has a cat.
5. Cats are mysterious creatures, a lot of superstitions- good or bad- are connected with cats.
6. There are a lot of songs, books, fairy-tales about cats. Every language has proverbs and sayings about cats.
7. Cats are one of the most expensive pets.
Every 9th person on the planet has a cat. People have been admiring cats for thousands of years, but they still can`t understand these wonderful animals.
Take care of cats and they will always love you!
