The theme of the lesson: What is your favourite colour?
Grade: the 2 nd form.
The aims of the lesson: to develop pupils’ skills in speaking and reading, to introduce new vocabulary(names of colours), to create a friendly atmosphere in the class.
Visual aids: cards, pictures, coloured pencils.
Procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment.
Teacher: Good morning, dear pupils!
Pupils: Good morning, teacher!
Teacher: I am glad to see you! Sit down, please.
II. Phonetic drill. The fat black cat sat on the map.
III. Checking up the home task.
IV. Presentation of new material.
-New vocabulary: the names of colours: white, black, red, green, yellow, blue, grey, pink.
-Ask questions about the objects’ colours in the class.
V. Reading. Work with the following dialogue. Reproduce it in pairs.
-How are you?
-I am fine, thank you. And how are you?
-I am fine, too. What is your name?
-My name is Ainaz.
-And my name is Adilet. How old are you?
-I am eight.
-O’k. What colour is your bag?
-My bag is pink. And what is this?
-It is my new book.
-What colour is it?
-It is pink.
VI. Doing exercises.
Write the sentences and translate them into Kazakh.
Our toys are green and pink. Zebras also are black and white. Lions are yellow. My dog is black. My brother’s house is big and white.
Take these pictures of animals, write their names and colour them. Then talk to your partner about their colours.
VII. Speaking. Speak about your favourite colour.
Example: My favourite colour is green. All my clothes are green.
VIII. Giving home task.
Teacher: Has the bell gone?
Pupils: Yes, the bell has already gone.
Teacher: O’k, good. Stand up then… the lesson is over. You may be free. Good bye!
Pupils: Good bye, teacher!
