Aims of the lesson:
Educational: To revise and check the knowledge of pupils got during the lessons, to enrich word stock on the given theme ;
Developing: To develop pupil’s creative and logical abilities, understanding, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
Bringing-up: to bring up love and interest to the subject, to respect each other, to work in team, to create an English atmosphere in the classroom.
Inter-subject connection: Kazakh, English.

The procedure of the lesson:
-Good morning pupils and our guests!
- Thank you, sit down!
-How are you? Today we have unusual lesson – intellectual game, which is called: “My sweet home”. At this lesson we will revise our knowledge got on our school lessons. Our game consists of 6 rounds:
2. Scrambled letters
3. Rooms and actions
4. Are you smart?
6. The house of my dream
In our competition there are 3 teams: yellow team, red team and blue team. And according to the rules you should be divided into 3 teams. For this, please come to me. I think that everybody knows our Kazakh national game “Kantalapay”. I will through the asyks of yellow, red and blue colors. According to the colors of your asyks you should go to the tables. (Dividing into teams)
The procedure of the game will be judged by our juries:
So let’s begin our intellectual game.
But first let’s do some phonetic drill. Look at the whiteboard, you see English proverbs about home, let’s read and repeat them. (slide1)
My home is my castle.
East or west, home is best.

Home is where the heart is.
And now the first round is “TRANSLATOR”
I will give you the envelopes. There are the words in English and Kazakh. You should match the translations. I’ll give you 5 minutes for this task. There are 20 words; each correct translation is 1 point.

The second round is “SCRAMBLED LETTERS”.
You must make up the words from these letters:

k, s, i, n – sink
m, p, a, l – lamp
r, a, i, c, h – chair

r, o, d, o - door (Points: 10)
The third round is “ROOMS AND ACTIONS”
Listen to the descriptions and guess what room is it? For correct answer you’ll get 2 points.
In this room there is chairs, armchairs, a sofa, a television, and a carpet. We usually watch television there (living room)
There is a dishwasher, a fridge, plates and cups there. We usually cook in this room. (kitchen)
In this room you wash your hands and face, clean your teeth, take a bath or a shower (bathroom ).
“ARE YOU SMART?”
In this round we will check your grammar knowledge.
Look at this slide and choose the right prepositions.
“MATCHING THE PROVERBS”
Do you remember the proverbs from phonetic drill? Let’s recall them in the next round. In this round you should match the proverbs
“THE HOUSE OF MY DREAM”
In the last round you can show your drawing abilities. You will draw the house of your dream and describe it. The judges will say which house is the best. Your houses will be estimated and you can get till 5 points in this round.
