So much to do,

Around each corner,

грамматических навыков по теме «Модальные глаголы».
We see that school is important in our
life. Here we make friends, learn about people and get prepared for our later
life. Every day a lot of pupils go to school to study. They learn many things
there. Now let’s tell our guests about school rules. Look at the screen,
please. Find out what a good pupil should, shouldn’t, must, mustn’t to do. You
have four minutes to do this exercise.
We …
wear a school uniform
be late for classes
argue with teachers
treat each other with respect
keep discipline
miss lessons
speak in class unless the teacher asks to
fight and smoke at school
change our boots when we at school
draw or write on the desks

VI. Совершенствование
навыков чтения и монологической речи.
T:
One of the main school rules is a wearing school uniform. Do pupils wear a
school uniform in Russia? Is it compulsory? Do you like to wear a uniform?
Now
we’ll read the dialogue about school uniforms. You must understand the dialogue
and then answer my questions.
B:
Hi, Jacky! Don’t you just hate having to wear these ugly school uniforms? I
feel like I can’t express myself in these clothes.
G:
I like wearing a uniform to school. They make it easier for the teachers to
find you if you got lost on an excursion. No one would find you if you aren’t
wearing a uniform.
B:
Yes, but they are so plain. Clothes that you buy at the shops look much cooler.
G:
You don’t need to wear cool clothes to be cool. There are lots of other ways to
be cool like.
B:
True, but uniforms make everyone look the same when they are all so different.
I want to be different to my other classmates.
G:
But it’s good that we have the same clothes. It makes us remember that we are
all at the same school and that we should be proud that we all go to school
here.
B:
Whatever Jacky, I think uniforms make school boring. If people had different
clothes with different styles they would make school much more interesting.
G:
But we are here to learn, Harman. If everyone was wearing their own clothes
then maybe there would be less focus on their school work.
B:
I disagree, Jacky. Your clothes don’t make any difference what you learn. I can
learn wearing whatever I want.
G:
But, Harman, we have to live by rules to succeed in life. Wearing school
uniform teaches students to follow rules. You can’t just do whatever you want,
you know.
B:
My mum and dad think that school uniforms are so expensive. They can buy
cheaper clothes at K-market.
G:
But Harman, without uniform there would be a lot of pressure to wear the latest
fashionable clothes. I feel safe and comfortable in my school uniform and it
helps me learn.
B:
I disagree, Jacky, but you make some convincing points. It doesn’t mean you are
wrong. We just have different opinions.
·
Did
you understand this dialogue?
·
What
problem was discussed in this dialogue?
·
What
do the boy and girl speak about school uniform?
·
Are
you for or against wearing school uniforms?
VII. Введение новых лексических
единиц.
T:
What do think will you be punished if you miss lessons, don’t your homework,
don’t wear your uniform and get bed marks?
In British school there are different
punishments for not ideal students. Read the text and learn how British
teachers deal with the students, who are not ideal.
Students are very
"inventive" in their ways to make teachers' lives hard. Here are some
punishments used in British schools.
Lines - In England when a teacher gives you
"lines", you write out some sentence again and again, perhaps fifty
or one hundred times. For example, you can write such a lovely (clever, wise)
sentence as "I must do my homework" or "I must not be
late".
Detention - If you are in
detention, you stay after school to do extra work - perhaps "lines" or
clean the classroom.
Report - If you are "on
report", you have a card which you give to the teacher at the end of every
lesson. Each teacher reports if you have behaved well or badly.
Suspension - If you are
suspended, you cannot come to school for a few days or weeks. Your parents have
to see the Head Teacher. This is serious.
Exclusion - If you are
expelled you are sent away from your school. This is serious. You have to go to
another school where the teachers all know about your bad behaviour.
·
What
does the punishment “lines” mean?
·
What
is the easiest punishment?
·
What
is the hardest punishment?
·
What
is the most effective punishment?
VIII. Совершенствование навыков говорения.
T: All students want to study in a perfect
school. Think of your perfect school. Don’t forget about timetable, classmates,
teachers, rules and uniform. Share your ideas with other students.
IX. Рефлексия. Заключительный этап
урока.
T: Thank you very much for the lesson. Now
let’s answer my question. What have you learnt at our lesson?
Finish the sentence:
I
have learnt … .
T: Thank you for your work. Thank you for
your attention. You spoke English, wrote, read and your marks for today’s
lesson are very good. Good-bye.
