ОТКРЫТЫЙ УРОК ПО ТЕМЕ “ AT THE DOCTOR`S”

Учебная: систематизировать и контролировать усвоение языкового материала и следующих Грамматических Явлений: употребление модальных глаголов should/shouldn`t, Past Simple Tense в монологической и диалогической речи , название частей тела, болезней и травм.
Развивающая: употреблять лексические единицы в связных высказываниях и реальных ситуациях, преодолевать языковой барьер, тренировать долговременную память, навыки аудирования.
Воспитательная: прививать навыки межличностного общения, умения поддержать беседу.
Оснащение: фото, карточки, постер, аудиозапись(CD)
Организационный момент и речевая деятельность.
Teacher: Hello, dear pupils! How are you? I`m happy that all of you are present, healthy and active. What`s the weather like today?
Pupils in turn describe the weather:
Pupil 1: Now it`s rainy.
Pupil 2: frosty, slippery, etc.
Teacher: Even if the weather is fine, you should be careful, put on warmly and be strong and healthy. Today we`re going to speak about the health and everything connected with it. To begin with let`s revise some illnesses and injuries. Make a spidergram on the board.

II. Монологическая речь.
Teacher: To my mind, fore warned means fore armed. What should and shouldn`t we do to avoid illnesses and injuries and stay healthy?
2 pupils get a set of cards with kinds of some activities to divide them into 2 groups:
EAT HEALTHY FOOD EAT JUNK FOOD
GO CYCLING GO TO THE CYBER CAFÉ
GO TO BED EARLY WATCH A LOT TV
PLAY SPORTS EAT A LOT OF SALT
SLEEP SEVEN OR EIGHT HOURS AND SUGAR
Teacher: We`re proud of having a person who keeps a healthy lifestyle. Let`s listen to Mary`s story. But listen attentively! There are some mistakes in her story. (см. Приложение № 1). Is her way of life healthy? Give her some advice.
Teacher: But if you don`t follow useful advice, one day you should visit a doctor. Let`s imagine such a situation. (см. Приложение № 2 Dialogue “At the doctor`s).
Pupils in pairs read the dialogue, then make up their own ones and act.
Teacher: It seems to be a dull story. Let`s cheer up! I believe you won`t have such an occasion. They say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”!
Now it`s high time to listen to the joke (a record on CD) “The Doctor’s Advice” and answer the question: “What was the doctor’s mistake?”
Author: Once an old man went to see a doctor. He said:
Old man: I am not very well. I feel tired, doctor.
Author: The doctor examined him and said:
Doctor: You must have a rest. Go to the country for a month, go to bed early, drink milk, go for long walks and smoke only one cigar a day.
Old man: Thank you very much. I’ll do everything as you say.
Author: A month later the man came to the doctor again.
Doctor: How are you? I am very glad to see you. You look much better.
Old man: Oh, doctor. I am quite well now. I had a good rest. I went to bed early. I drank milk. I went for long walks. Your advice helped me. But you told me to smoke one cigar a day and that one cigar a day almost killed me at first. It’s not a joke to begin smoking at my age.
(If there is the time, pupils can listen to another joke “The last tooth” (см. Приложение № 3).
A pupil reads a story and asks the questions for the rest pupils to answer.
Teacher: So our lesson is going to the end. Are you tired? Let`s do a gym for our body and prove the fact of its importance for healthy lifestyle. Let`s sing a Song “Head and shoulders”.
VII. Заключение. Итог урока.
Teacher: I see you’ve understood the joke. And finally our doctors want to give you some advice how to be healthy.
1) Take long walks in the open air as often as you can
2) Keep your body clean
3) Keep your teeth clean
4) Wear clean clothes
5) Sleep with your window open
6) Climb the stairs
7) Don’t eat bread and butter a lot
8) Eat a lot of vegetables and fruit because they have a lot of vitamins
9) Don’t sleep too much or too little
10) Don’t drink alcohol
11) Don’t smoke
12) Train your body and exercise your memory
13) Don’t eat many sweets
14) Go in for sports and keep fit
15) Pay attention to the way you sit, stand and walk
Teacher: Thank you, doctors. I hope all students will follow these simple but useful rules of health.

Pupil 13: Health is not valued till sickness comes.
Teacher: Thank you very much. I think you’ve got a lot of information about healthy living guide, good and bad habits. You have worked very well today. Your marks for the lesson are….
VI. Домашнее задание
Teacher: Your home tasks for the next lesson are to find out your friends’ health habits and give a portrait of the average student in your class, act the dialogues and do lexical-grammar exercises. (Stronger pupils can make up the presentation of cooking a healthy dish).
What task was the most/least interesting (easy)? What did you know today?

It`s important to eat a healthy food and take exercise. My diet isn`t very balanced. I like eating fruits and vegetables, but I eat them once a week. I eat sweets and sausages more. I usually sleep for 6-8 hours every night. I take exercise every day. I spend one hour watching TV a day, but more hours I spend for playing computer games. I also like rollerblading. I think I have a quite healthy lifestyle!

Come in, please. How are you? You don't look happy today.
I don't feel well. I've got a headache and an earache.
What's the matter?
My ear hurts. And I can't move my head.
Are you taking the tablets I've given you? You must follow my advice. You should stay in bed and keep warm. You should take some vitamins, drink hot tea with honey and raspberry.
Yes, I will. Thanks a lot for your advices. Bye.
