Форма урока: урок-проект.

Программно-методическое обеспечение:

  • учебник для 5 класса школ с углубленным изучением английского языка, Верещагина И.Н., Афанасьева О.В., Москва  «Просвещение» 2014.

Цель: активизация речевой и мыслительной деятельности учащихся.

Задачи:

Обучающая; Ознакомить учащихся с проблемами экологии во всем мире.

Практическая: Совершенствовать у учащихся навыки устной речи, аудирования, чтения, развивать умение  владения английским языком в обсуждении экологических проблем.

Воспитательная: Воспитать чувство ответственности за чистоту окружающей среды, любовь к природе родного края.

Развивающая:Привить интерес к изучению иностранного языка.

Методы: словесный, наглядно-иллюстративный, метод проекта, применение, контроль.

Основные формы организации детей:фронтальная, индивидуальная, групповая

Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, компьютер, видеофильм, раздаточный материал.

Pupil: -In my opinion the world needs a friend, because it has problems.

Teacher: -Yes, you are right. It has problems, ecological problems.

Teacher:  What do you think what we are going to speak about?

Pupils: We are going to speak about the problems of the world.

P3: Because people throw away rubbish into the streets, rivers and lakes.

Good morning, dear friends! My name is Zardak. I’m from Vikon planet. Your planet looks so wonderful that I decided to land. I enjoyed oceans and seas, mountains  and countries from space.  I think you are very happy there.

P1: You are quite right. Our planet is beautiful  but it is in danger now.

Z: Really?

P2: Unfortunately, it is so. You see our animal and plant worlds need protection.

Z: I was so surprised to see much water on Earth.

P2: But very little water is good for drinking. It is dangerous to use it. Even fish die in such water.

Z: I enjoyed my walks along the river banks. I think you can have a good time in summer in the lakes and rivers.

P3: Not everywhere. The water in rivers and lakes is dirty. And sometimes the water is so dirty that can kill animals and plants, and it is dangerous to swim.

Z: It’s a pity I can’t swim.

P2: Don’t be upset. You can enjoy our great forests and fresh air. Though in some  big cities the  air is dirty.

P1: When we go to our forests, we can see that some people’s activities do a lot of harm to the forests. They cut down treesbut they don’t think about our future.

Z: And what do you do? Do you want to save your beautiful planet?

P2: We plant many flowers and trees, build bird houses, don’t pick up rare flowers and plants. We take care about animals.

Polluted air is a common problem.Nowadays people feel that it is more difficult to breathe: in big cities the air has become badly polluted. Most of the pollution comes from cars, buses, airplanes. Air can also polluted by smoke from factories. Old people and little children feel bad and get ill because of the pollution air.

People do not know what to do with waste materials, so they pour them into water, bury them into soil, shoot them into the air. Every day people throw away a lot of garbage.If there is so much rubbish in our streets, parks, homes, schools, rivers, forests, then very soon our towns and cities will become huge rubbish dumps and the whole world will become a dump. Sometimes the gar­bage is burnt. It is very bad. The things we eat are not always healthy because they grow on polluted land and become dangerous too.

People must solve waste material problem.

The way people live has changed the climate on our planet. Nowadays the temperature is rising. You do not have real Russian winter in Moscow any more. In the north of the Europe the climate has become milder and warmer too. If the temperature grows by 3-4 degrees it will be impossible to live on the planet.

Some people's activities do a lot of harm to the forests. People cut down forests, burnt in fire, build farms, houses and roads. Many animals and plants lose their homes. This is bad for the Earth's air. Modern plants and factories send a lot of smoke into the atmosphere. This is also very bad, because nowadays it's difficult to breathe in big cities.Many animals and birds on the Earth are disappearing nowadays. Many of them are in danger. Indian tigers and African elephants are among them. People have hunted and killed many tigers in India and a lot of elephants in Africa.Tigers and elephants are often dangerous animals. Some people are afraid of tigers and kill them to save their domestic animals and their lives. But some people have often hunted tigers for fun and for their beautiful skin.The result is very sad. There are few Indian tigers on the Earth now. Most tigers don't hunt people nowadays. People have cut down many trees. Ant the question is: have those animals got a future? We can ask the same questions about African elephants. They are wonderful animals. They can help men. In the last century Africa was full of elephants. But these days there are not many of them in African parks.Many wild birds are also disappearing from the Earth, for example dodoes. The last of these quite birds died many years ago. We must save wild animals. We must take care of nature.

Water is very important for life on the Earth. It is in our oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. There is much water on our planet and at the same time there is little water on it. It is so because very little water on the Earth good for drinking. In many rivers and lakes water is very dirty. Sometimes people cannot swim even in the sea because the sea and the seaside are not clean. In many places water is not drinkable. It is dangerous to use it when you cook. Even fish die in such water.  For example Lake Baikal is the deepest freshwater lake on Earth. It is 1741 metres deep. It's very beautiful but now it is in great danger because of the factories which are near it. In some places the water in the lake is so dirty that it kills animals and plants in Baikal and near it.

 

Teacher: Do you think that the animals which live in all these places are happy? Let’s watch a short fairy tale and see if the river animals are happy to live in their river.

Octopus: Good morning, Mrs. Fish. Why are you so sad today?

Fish: I don’t think it’s really a good morning. I am so sad because our river is so dirty. People pollute it every day.

Crocodile: I think people don’t like our river because they throw lots of rubbish here. So, the water is not clear and fresh. It is very dirty .

Octopus: And I’m so hungry. I have nothing to eat because everything is poisoned here.

River: Who wants this rubbish for lunch?


Fish: Not me! I don’t want this rubbish.

Octopus: Not me! I hate this rubbish.

Crocodile: And not me!

River: Then let’s send all this rubbish to the bank back to people.

All together: We want our river to be clean and clear!

Teacher: So, are Octopus, Fish and Crocodile happy?

P-s: No, they aren’t.

Teacher: Why aren’t they happy?

P-s: Because there is a lot of rubbish!

Teacher: Children, I like your projects. Thank you for your work.

The environment is all the things we need to live — clean wa­ter to drink , air to breathe and healthy food to eat. We can’t live without plants and ani­mals, they give us food. But nowa­days they are in danger.

The world is our home and we want to see it clean and beautiful. But we pollute the environment. We make a lot of waste and pour them into our rivers, seas and oceans.

Cars and factories, plants pollute the air. Pollution is one of the worst diseases of the century.

People all over the world think about our planet. They think about air, water, plants and animals on the Earth. They say our planet is in danger. Many people do not know how to protect animals and plants, how to keep the water clean and the air fresh. Bur they are ready to do it. They try to help nature.
