SCHOOL IS FUN

Открытый урок по теме “School”

Открытый урок является обобщающим по теме “Nice to meet you again” (УМК М.З. Биболетовой Enjoy English).

Урок проходит в форме состязания между двумя командами 5-го класса. В весёлой и увлекательной форме учащиеся повторяют и обобщают материал по теме “Школа”.


Цели:

практическая: совершенствовать умения и навыки говорения и чтения;

развивающая: развивать мышление, память;

воспитательная: учить слушать друг друга, работать в группе.

Задачи: совершенствование навыков аудирования; совершенствование навыков чтения; активизация употребления лексических единиц; актуализация фонетических и грамматических навыков.

Учебно-наглядный материал: слайды с изображением школьных принадлежностей; слайды с заданиями; раздаточный материал.

ХОД УРОКА

I. Организационный момент

Teacher: Today we will have a very interesting lesson.

The class will be divided into two teams. Each team will complete different tasks. The names of your teams are “The Break” and “Good marks”. Our jury will give you points. At the end we will see who is the cleverest. Who are your captains?

Команды по очереди называют своих капитанов.

II. Проведение конкурсов

Конкурс 1. Tongue-twisters

Teacher: The first task is reading tongue-twisters. You should read very quickly.

Учащиеся получают скороговорку и определяют, кто из команды будет читать.

To begin to toboggan, first buy a toboggan.

But do not buy too big a toboggan to begin to toboggan.

Конкурс 2. Words

Teacher: Look at the blackboard. You can see some pictures.

Do you use these things at school? Name them. (Слайды 2–8)

Конкурс 3. Sentences

Teacher: Make up some sentences, using these words.

One team makes up their sentence, another team translates this sentence. (Слайд 9)

II. Warming-Up (повторение лексики по теме “Моя школа”) (5 мин)

1. Teacher: Take Paper 1. There are two tasks. Let’s review the school subjects (Task A). There are some words but their letters are scrambled. What are the subjects?

Example: S, H, E, G, N, I, L – ENGLISH

Teacher: Try to write them correctly. I’ll give you a minute.

Let’s check your answers (Слайд 4). Take a red pen or a pencil and correct your mistakes. (The pupils check their answers and make corrections) (Слайд 5).

Teacher: Do you like to go to school? What do you do at the lesson? What do you do during the break? Look at the blackboard and tell us about your lesson and about your breaks, using these words.

Teacher: At school you study many different subjects.

Now I want you to guess what subject I`m speaking about.

Учащиеся получают карточки со словами и, слушая учителя, заполняют их.

1. At this lesson you usually read, speak, learn by heart and translate texts.

2. At this lesson you usually jump, run and play sports games.

3. At this lesson you usually play games and work with computer programs.

4. At this lesson you usually sing songs and learn about famous composers.

5. At this lesson you usually do sums and count.

Конкурс 6. Text

Teacher: You have some sentences about two children. Their names are Julia and Julian. All the sentences are mixed. You should make up the text.

JULIA

This is a schoolgirl.

Her name is Julia.

She is fourteen years old.

Julia likes Music, I.T., and Art.

She has got a small brother.

Her brother’s name is John.

He doesn`t go to school.

John is four.

JULIAN

This is a schoolboy.

His name is Julian.

He is fourteen years old.

Julian likes P.E.

It’s his favourite subject because he likes to run and to play sport.

He has got a small sister.

His sister`s name is Mary. She doesn`t go to school.

Mary is four.

Тексты разрезаны на предложения и перепутаны.

Необходимо составить 2 текста, наклеив предложения на лист бумаги, соблюдая при этом логический порядок.

Конкурс 7

Teacher: We got a letter from Dima who lives in Scotland. Read and translate his letter and answer the questions. “The Break” team answers the first two questions and “Good marks” answers the second two questions. (Слайд 12)

Dear pen-friend,

My name is Dima. I am ten. I travelled a lot this summer.

In August I went abroad. I spent two weeks in Scotland at Summer School. My school was very big. There was a classroom, a dining-room and a library there.

The classrooms and computer rooms were on the first floor. My favourite classroom was the English classroom. There was a map of Great Britain and some portraits of English writers on the walls. All pupils studied English. We had three classes a week – on Mondays, Tuesdays and on Fridays. At the lessons we checked our homework. We asked and answered the questions. We read English texts and

translated sentences from Russian into English. Now I speak English much better. I made a lot of friends in Scotland. I hope you will write a letter to me and tell about your school.

Your pen-friend, Dima.

Questions:

1. What was Dima’s favourite classroom?

2. Was his school big or small?

3. What did he do at his English lessons?

4. When did they learn English?

Жюри подводит итоги.

Teacher: Thank you for your work. You were active and clever today. Do you like our competition? I wish you good luck. See you next lesson.
