The Queen doesn’t rule the country. It is the policy of the Prime Minister. The Queen’s life before and after coronation.

Aim of the lesson/Оқу мақсаты:

to revise the usage of Past Perfect and new words;

to give information about the Queen. to develop the pupils habits of the oral speech , to develop pupils creative and logical abilities, understanding, reading and writing; to bring up love and interest to the subject, to respect each other, to create an English atmosphere in the classroom.

The teacher distributes parts of the texts to every pupil. If there are 7 pupils in the group, each of them receives a part of the text.


Then they discuss the whole text in a group, sharing with their information.


The Queen

I group. The Queen’s full name is Elizabeth-Mary-Alexander Windsor. Her nickname is Lilibet. She was born in Windsor on the 21st of April in 1926. She was educated at home by her parents and studied Latin, Geography, Economics, Music and knew foreign languages, spoke French well. She was good at horse-riding, dancing, swimming and she took part in swimming competitions. During the war she wanted to help the army: grew vegetables and knitted socks for soldiers. She married Prince Philip in 1947 when she was 21. In 1948 their first son Prince Charles was born.

II group. She came to the throne in 1952 and was crowned in Westminster Abbey in London. Made her first speech in 1957 congratulating with Christmas. Now this speech has become traditional. She plays an important role in the country and travels a lot. She has three sons: Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward. She has one daughter: Princess Anne. The Queen likes reading, taking pictures, watching horse races. Her official residences are Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle in London.


The teacher gives the groups stickers and asks to write questions on them.



The teacher distributes numbers to each member starting from 1 to 7. Teacher chooses a number and the pupil with this number will answer the questions.


The teacher gives the groups an opportunity to choose an envelope.




Task A.

Write the verbs in Past Perfect form:

1) sing

2) work

3) set

4) leave

5) make

Task B.

Complete the following sentences in the past perfect simple tense.

1) six letters/ before she got a response/ She (to write)

2) here before 1978 / It/ always (to snow)

3) Dan/ before he got better/ sick for three days (to be)

Every pupils gets a card with several sentences and read it, then writes the information on the paper.


Then every pupil shares with his/her information in a group.


After all, they explain the text to the other group.
































Pupils think in groups and write questions on the stickers and gives to the other group.


Then they answer to the questions.

The pupil with the raised number answers the question.


Pupils get ready to speak using the accociations hidden in the envelopes. Then express their opinion to the class.


Pupils do the tasks one by one and brings to the teacher.
