Good morning!
Sit down, please.
Nice to meet
you! How are you today? Who is absent?
Today we turn to the study
of the new module. And we are going to talk
about well-known figures from different countries.
Open your books at page
65, please. Read the title of the module. What do you think the module is
about?
Open your books at page
66, please. Look at the photos. Do you know these people?
Thank you!
Look at the ex. 1 Here we can
see several adjectives. With their help, we can describe people. Use it to
make true sentences about each person in the pictures.
And now let`s check how
well do you know these stars. Read the answer the questions in the quiz.
Thank you!
Look at the exercise 3.
Let`s learn how form the Comparative/Superlative forms of adjectives/adverbs.
With adverbs ending in -ly,
you must use more to form the comparative, and most to form
the superlative.
For ex.: Could you sing more quietly please?
With short adverbs that do
not end in -ly comparative and superlative forms are identical to
adjectives: add -er to form the comparative and -est to
form the superlative. If the adverb ends in e, remove it before
adding the ending.
For ex.: Jim works harder than his brother.
Everyone in the race ran
fast, but John ran the fastest
of all.
Some adverbs have irregular
comparative and superlative forms.
For ex.: You're driving worse today than yesterday!
Also, we use (not) as
+ adjective + as to show that two people or things are / aren`t equal.
For ex.: Bob is as clever
as Tim. (They are both equally clever.)
Lisa is not as rich as
Julia. (Lisa hasn`t got as much money as Julia.)
Try to find the examples of
such constructions in the quiz on page 66.
Look at the exercise 6. We
are going to listen to the record and put the adjectives in brackets in the
correct comparative or superlative form.
Thank you for your work.
You did it well.
Time is up. Let`s sum
everything up. Can you compare people or characters? Can you talk about
celebrities?
Good. Thank you. Please,
write down your homework. Page 41 ex. 1,2,3,4 in your Workbooks.
Thank you for your work. All
of you have done a good job, so you get good grades! See you next week.
Goodbye!
