«Travelling & Tourism.

Тема урока : «Travelling & Tourism.



- рас ширить и активизировать знания обучающихся о туризме и путешествиях;

-учить использовать нове ЛЕ в речи .

Практическая :

- практиковать употребление нового лексического материала во время выполнени я комплекса упражнений.

Развивающая :

- развивать навыки аудирования, монологической и диалогической речи;

- развивать комуникативные способности ;

- развивать языковую догадку

Воспитательная :

  • воспитывать культуру общения;

  • поддерживать познавательный інтерес к изучению иностранного языка

  • воспитывать заинтересованность к познавательной деятельности; к развитию туристического бизнеса.

Обладнання : ноутбук, мультимедійна дошка, проектор, розданій ресурсний матеріал для індивідуальної та парної роботи, глянцеві конверти-подорожі, рекламні буклети, підручник Enterprise, Longman Activator.

Ход урока :

I. Начало урока

І. Greeting.

T- Good morning, guests and my dear pupils! Take your seats. How are you today? Are you in a good mood?

(все)P – Yes, we are.

2.Aim T – Glad to hear it! Let’s start our English lesson. As for me, I like travelling. It’s quite useful. It helps us to know more about tourism and travelling, about different kinds of holidays, trips and excursions. It develops on our outlook. Do you enjoy travelling?

T – Thanks, good for you!

T – So, today we will speak about Travelling and Tourism.

You will :

1 develop your skills

2 learn to express your opinion, your thoughts

3 enrich your voc-ry;

4 learn to understand & practice this kind of activity;

3. Warming-up

Phonetic Drill.

T Let’s do some phonetic drills. Listen to the proverbs and repeat them. Pay attention to the pronunciation.

Men make houses, women make homes.

East or West home is best.

There is no place like home.

T – Have a look at the thoughts of famous people and repeat after me :

He who travels far, knows much” ( John Clarke)

The world is a book, and those who do not

travel, read only a page ( St. Augustine)

T - And now, my dear friends, do you agree with these statements?

II Основная часть

1.Vocabulary practice.

Answer my question. Which of the following activities do you enjoy doing while on holiday?

- meet the locals - buy souvenirs

- try the local cuisine - visit museums

- lie on the beach all day - visit local markets - explore nature


  • I enjoy shopping and buying souvenirs from the places I visit.

  • You meet local people while shopping, watch their behaviour, reactions,

sometimes you can speak with them if they know a bit of English. It’s very


  • I like to lie on the beach and relax all day when I go on holiday.

  • I prefer to try the local cuisine.

  • If we go anywhere I prefer to explore nature

  • I enjoy meeting the locals when I go on a holiday somewhere different.

T - Look at the screen, we have Different holiday problems (добавить картинки). Describe the pictures. (хоровое чтение)

- miss the flight - get seasick

- car breaks down - lose passport

- luggage/wallet get stolen - lose the way

- have an accident - weather gets bad

T – Try to explain, what has happened to the people?

miss the flight This picture shows someone running after a plane.

It seems if he has missed his flight.

weather gets bad this picture shows two people by the sea. They are sitting on sun loungers but it is raining. It seems that the weather has got bad. They seem to be very unhappy.

lose the way this Picture shows someone looking at the signpost with a map in his hand. It seems like he has lost his way.

2.Writing and Reading

T – Look at the board. We have 3 ways of travelling. You know it very well. These are some kinds of travel by means of which we can travel. Read them.

Put the words from the list into the three categories :

Bus Steamboat Helicopter Train Ferry Hot air Horse/donkey/camel Raft

Airplane On foot Cruise ship Balloon Underground Yacht Private jet

Scooter – motorbike ship Coach canoe Car bicycle


Look at the words. Tell me, please, which of the forms of transport is, in your opinion :

  • the cheapest? the most comfortable? the most expensive?

3.Listening. (понимание основного содержания)

Listen to three people giving their opinions on different means of transport. How does each person prefer to travel?Why?

Ex.4, p.96

T – Thanks a lot! You were great!

4.Speaking (монологическая речь)

T. You know, International travel these days has become cheaper, quicker and more convenient for many people. Our children have prepared some information about different types of holidays for those with a sense of adventure.

T – Thank you. Our lesson is over. You’ve got a lot of interesting info. What did you study today? Was it useful for you? I hoped you liked our lesson.

  1. Home-work.

- prepare booklets about any Country you would like to present us and to visit;

There should be such info:

-kind of a trip;

-name of the country;

-places to visit (2-3);

-where to stay;


-how to get there;
