“Christmas Quiz”

(Christmas Quiz)

Цель мероприятия: создать условия для формирования у учащихся к культуре и традициям страны изучаемого языка через участие в викторине

Задачи:

 а) образовательные: обобщить, систематизировать знания учащихся по теме в игровой форме;

б) развивающие: развивать способности учащихся осуществлять продуктивные речевые действия, способности к языковой догадке, творческой активности, развивать воображение;

в) воспитательные: воспитывать потребность практического использования языка, формирование чувства ответственности при работе в группе.

Оборудование: интерактивная доска, презентация, раздаточный материал.

Ход мероприятия.

      Good morning dear friends. I’m happy to see all of you at our meeting devoted to some special day.  There are many holidays in our country and English-speaking countries. But the holidays we like most of all are New Year’s Day and Christmas Day. It is a traditional holiday for such countries as Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada and Australia. And today we are going to play our Christmas game. We are going to do a Christmas quiz and revise your knowledge about Christmas traditions. Today our 10^th and 11^th formers will take part at the game. I hope that it will be interesting for you.

First of all, let me introduce my helper. She is Tamila Ramazanova. My helper is very clever and honest girl. She will count your points.

 Now we are ready to start! The first round of our competition is Presentation. You will get scores for your costumes and introductions too. Are you ready to start?

The second round is the kind of “My own game”. I am sure you like to watch this game on TV. I want you to be very attentive, to give correct answers, to get good results. First of all a few words about our rules: Every question of the 2^nd round will cost from 100 to 500 points.  If you give a correct answer you will get your points. If your answer is wrong you will lose your points. If everything is clear we’ll start. Good luck! Now it’s time to begin the 2^nd round. The 3rd round.  It`s time to solve the crossword. I`ll give you the sheets of papers with Xmas Crossword.   Your task is to solve it as quick as you can. And be attentive, please. You`ll get 2 scores for each correct answer. Are you ready?

The 4^th round. We are coming to the next round. This round is Xmas test.You are to show the table with the number which is the answer to the question. If your answer is right, you’ll get 2 points. If your answer is wrong another team can answer and get 1 point.
