Teacher gives cards with picture of animals to learners.In each card animals divided into 4 groups(Mammals,birds,reptiles,fish).On the other side of card 4 colours(red,blue,yellow,green). Each group must have a mammal,a bird, a reptile and fish.

New vocabulary

1.Teacher shows new words(Which,ostrich,baboon, owl,wolf) and then drills pronounciation with whole class(3 times for each word) and individual learners.(for those who did not understand also 3 times,but individually)

2.Teacher explains new knowledge through prior knowledge.(F.e.What is this?(This is a pen).What colour is this pen?(Red).Which pen is red?Which pen do you like?)

3.Then Teacher explains the meaning of the word Danger by showing cards of carnivore animals.Learners should understand the meaning of this word. Then teacher explains that not only people can be in danger, but also animals are exposed to dangers too.After that learners should think how the word endangered was formed.

4.Finally teacher shows Red Book.Learners should say what about will be today’s topic.



Spelling game

Then teacher gives flashcards and nominates individual learners to produce words(Learners should spell the new words for better understanding) .Special attention will be paid on letters WH.


Ping-Pong


Teacher demonstrates what learners have to do with a interrogative pronouns as an example.Learners should stay in a circle.Then teacher asks each question about “animals”.Learners should answer to this questions quicly. This activity is made according to the strategy “Ping-Pong”.

Which insect produces honey?

Which fish known as the king of fishes?

Which one of the following animals can sleep whilst standing up - sheep, cow or horse?

Which animal is very big and has black and white stripes?


Reading

Students pool what they know about the topic of a text and share their knowledge in the target language..Then

Learners read the text “Animals in danger”, After reading, task will be to mark the sentences T(true) or F(false)


Competition


After all this activities it is time to competition.Teacher already divided learners into 4 groups earlier.(mammals,birds,reptiles,fishes).The rule is to give right answer.By using interactive board teacher shows a ppt version of set of animal visuals(pictures).Half of them are in the red list.Images of endangered animals.Teacher scores 1 point for first correct answer and a bonus point if the group can give extra information(F.e.What animal eats?-according to priorknowledge)


Feedbak from learners

Learners at the end of a lesson give an feedback to a lesson and the teacher. It can be written anonymously. It becomes for obtaining more exact answers

  • Group work is used to enable shy students to participate more confidently in class. Mixed-ability groups allow lower achievers to take advantage of peer support whilst higher achievers gain the opportunity to organise and voice their thoughts for the benefit of the whole group.

  • Ping-Pong

Teacher sets a task but instead of working towards a single ‘right’ answer, the students arrive at a personalised outcome depending on their level of ability.

  • Story frame is a type of visual graphic organizer that helps students visualize the structure of the story being read.The organizer helps students focus on parts of the story to see the story as a whole.Format the organizer into blocks or shapes with questions that focus on specific details that you want the student to pay attention to.


  • An open-ended question To help students grasp ideas in class, ask open-ended questions that require students that get students talking.  In response to these questions, students usually answer “yes”. So of course it’s surprising when several students later admit that they’re lost.

  • Thumbs up,middle or down

  • Ask the class if they understand a concept.If they think they get it,thumbs up.If they are not sure,thumbs middle,if they don’t get it,thumbs down.

  • TPS

Using cards for a multiple choise questions to check for understanding and think-pair-share to discuss with ohers.

  • Comments

Give written descriptive comments on students work helping them see how they can improve their work or what they’ve done that really worked for them.

  • Teacher can use this additional lesson in order to develop reading and speaking skills.

  • This kind of lessons may develop feeling of carefulness and compassion at pupils concerning the environment

  • To use ICT to provide fast perception of information and will increase interest in a lesson at pupils. As work on an interactive board will be not long, this won't affect health of pupils in any way
