The goal of our project is To identify the main ecological problems To demonstrate how people affect the environment To reduce Anti- Social- Behavior using environmental factors
The Earth is our home. What sort of home it depends on how we treat it. Do you like to fish or swim? Do you like to walk through the parks? Do you like to breath fresh air? If you do, we’ll have to treat our Earth home in a different way. Why?
Because we are making lakes and rivers too dirty for fish to live in or for people to swim in. For example: The Mississippi river carriers 1,5 million metric tons of nitrogen pollution into the Gulf of Mexico each year, creating a “Dead Zone”
Because we are cutting down forests too fast. We are spoiling the nature. For example: You know that paper is made from trees. It is better for you to use limited paper for it can save many trees in the world. American people use 50 million tons of paper every year. It takes more than 850 million trees.
Because we making so much smoke, dirty air. The dirty air can cause illness, even death. For example: People who live in places with high levels of air pollution have a 20% higher risk of death from lung cancer.
The official number of people on our planet is more than 7.000.000.000. And the world’s population is growing very quickly. It adds up to 184 people every minute. Every new person added to the planet needs food, water, clothes and fuel. More people mean? More cars, roads, schools, hospitals and shops. Our planet's riches are limited.
For example: Although water covers most of the planet, less than 1% of it can be used for drinking. For a long time, people have used their Earth home without thinking of what was happening to it. Now we see that we must treat it better. How can we protect the environment?
