is the country
in the west of Great Britain.
Wales (Cymru in Welsh) is bordered by England to the east, the Bristol Channel to the south, St George's Channel in the west, and the Irish Sea to the north.

The Britons wore the leek on their hats to distinguish them and their friends from the enemies. Today the Welsh eat raw leek on St David's Day.

The Welsh for leek (the original national emblem) is Cenhinen, while the Welsh for daffodil is Cenhinen Pedr. Over the years they became confused until the daffodil was adopted as a second emblem of Wales.
